There was no chance that he was the only patient in the place, yet the moment the thought crossed his mind, he couldn't ignore the potential

Visitors again tomorrow, Indy thought morosely as he moved from the empty men's block hallway into the empty connecting one. Damn, had it been a whole week already? He wished he had more to show for his progress in that time. He hadn't even managed to figure out where Dad was or what they'd done to him. If he came back again this time, maybe Indy'd have a shot at finding out more.
He was torn between hoping for a visit and dreading it. It had been awful to see Dad like that--parroting Landel's ridiculous make-believe stories, never mind the unusual degree of affection he'd shown--but at least if he kept coming back, Indy knew he was all right for the time being.
Still musing on all that, he turned right at the junction and started to make for the main hall.

The path from his room to the stairs wasn't too long, which meant that he only had a small amount of space and time in which he could wrangle up another patient to head up there with him. Usually he only bothered looking once he reached the hall that ran perpendicular to this one, but...
It was hard to tell in the dark and when his flashlight only reached so far, but he was pretty sure he noticed a familiar form in a familiar set of clothing up ahead of him.
Jones was moving like he had somewhere to be, but there was always the chance that he didn't -- and if not, maybe he had somewhere interesting that he was going. Harvey wasn't all that set on the second floor, at least not to the point where he wasn't willing to change his plans if something more intriguing was put before him.
"Jones!" he called out, raising his voice enough to catch the other man's attention before he rounded a corner.

Indy had left his own similar weapon back in the room in favor of the whip and a free hand to use it, but he decided he wouldn't be opposed to having another one around, if Dent was inclined to play sidekick again (and assuming he was actually willing to use it). He hadn't run across any lab rats lately except the minotaur, but the intercom announcement had sounded even more foreboding than usual, so it couldn't hurt to be cautious. More relevantly, tonight's errand was likely to be boring. Conversation might keep him on his toes. Maybe it'd be worth asking.
"Dent," he answered with a nod of greeting. "Find out anything about Lunge?"

Come to think of it, hadn't Landel said something about construction in his earlier announcement?
The Doctor's jog slowed to a walk as he continued down the hallway, listening for any tell-tale signs of work. If the work being done was outside or even simply in a different area, perhaps he was too far indoors to hear it... but it certainly didn't hurt to try. Running into fellow 'patients' at night was one thing, but if there were workers around... What would their reactions be to see the patient population of the hospital roaming free at night?
If Landel and his staff was aware of patients roaming free at night (and with the way they were always returned to their rooms by morning, the Doctor was fairly certain that they must know), they didn't exactly acknowledge it freely during the day. Similarly, the Doctor had never actually seen any of the staff (or the rumored monsters) at night; finding the workers doing the "emergency reconstruction" could be a unique opportunity ( ... )

He may not have heard any sounds from the (supposed) construction, but the Doctor did hear someone addressing him. Slipping his hands into his trouser pockets, he glanced at the person approaching him.
"Oh, yes, I'm alright," he answered, giving the man in the leather coat a lopsided smile and a small shrug. "I was just listening. Well, trying to..." He removed one hand from a pocket, pointing a finger upwards with a wave. "Listen. Do you hear that?"
The question was largely rhetorical, so after giving the man a moment in which to hear what he meant (or not to hear it, as was the case), he continued, "The announcement-the earlier one- he said the ( ... )

"I figured it was one of those psych-out things. Get us thrown off balance, mess with our heads even more," Dean said. Then again, there was a lot of doors and stuff here that should've been broken and yet when the next morning rolled around, they were always repaired. Stuff like that hadn't added up.
Dean had gotten close enough to see that the patient was some dude rocking a long coat, suit and...okay, he had to do a discreet second-take, but where those friggen sneakers? Classy. "You got a name? I'm Dean ( ... )

Having figured that the man who'd run ahead of him would keep going until he reached the stairs (or at least got to that hallway), Zack was a little surprised to find that he'd stopped. In fact, it looked like the stranger was listening for something. The soldier slowed down himself, instead moving down the hall at a fast walk as he tried to figure out what the other patient was doing. What did he expect to hear? Monsters? The thunder?
If Zack had had a solid meeting place and hadn't had to worry about missing people, he might have stopped to ask, just out of pure curiosity. Still, his duty to his friends urged him to keep up his earlier pace, and so after a small shrug to himself, he continued down the corridor. He was almost at the area where most of the patients seemed to congregate before heading off for the night, so that was his best bet for finding someone.

Yue's pace slowed just slightly as they reached the open hall, his posture becoming even more warily alert. Maybe he was just imagining things, but there was no reason to assume that they'd be safe wandering these hallways at night. Especially not when Landel had something planned. The last time he'd run into Landel's "plans" they'd all come out worse for it, and he'd no desire to repeat the experience. Or anything similar.
He glanced back briefly to make certain Touya was still following (not that he technically needed the evidence of more than one sense, but still) and then kept moving. There wasn't any time to waste, and he wasn't interested in conversation even so.

But, if he was determined to say nothing, Touya wouldn't push it at the moment.

Seeing other patients milling about caused Gant to stop for a moment to ponder what was really happening in this institute. It smacked of something illegal, but he didn't have enough evidence to prove one way or the other. Certainly was creepy, though. He didn't remember the walls looking quite so spooky when he had passed by during the day, but maybe that was a trick due to the low light of his flashlight.
He hurried along. Getting out of this mental facility was his goal. Even if they had the front door barricaded, he would find some way out. He didn't do well under intimidation. It was his job to do the intimidating, goddammit! This Landel fellow thought he had old Damon Gant under his thumb. Well, Gant would sure show him. No one could keep the LA Chief of Police down. No one.
