Still, habit was hard to break, and Kurogane proved that as he remained near to the wall, leaving it only to pass through the doorway into the next hall. He

Tonight, it seemed, the Doctor was among the first of those to have left their rooms. The hall was almost entirely deserted for the time being, and he decided to take advantage of it by moving a little more quickly until he saw others about.
He broke into a jog, heading out of the block hallway and into the next.

It seemed like he really was one of the first ones to make it out tonight, at least in this particular area. Zack figured that had to do with him having a snoring lump as a roommate, so he hadn't gotten tied up in conversation and had been able to prepare in advance. He truthfully felt bad for the guy, especially if his fate was to end up... wherever the disappeared patients went. Zack wasn't sure where that was just yet, but he hoped it wasn't the chopping block.
What was the worst about it was the fact that there was nothing he could do to stop it. Instead he was just a witness to it, and being put in that sort of helpless situation was pretty much the best way to wear at him. He tried to work up some solutions -- hiding the comatose man, or taking him along at night -- but in the end he knew that it would change nothing.
Sighing and shaking his head, Zack started in on a jog, wanting to press forward. The harder he worked, the more likely something could be done to stop all this.

He hadn't really expected to find the Captain in his own hallway, so Hayes was still moving with purpose, and with a very slight smile that came from having a purpose.
Okay, next hall.

"This way," he said quietly, presumably for the Captain's benefit being new, but mostly to keep the silence away.

With only one unfamiliar patient around at the moment, Guy didn't waste his time in heading down the hall toward the door that would take him out of the block. He had to admit, it was strange that nothing had gone awry thus far. There had been one Doyleton trip that hadn't ended badly -- the one two weeks ago. Maybe Landel alternated? Still, with all the things the man had been saying on the intercom, Guy got the feeling that he shouldn't consider himself safe so soon.
The fact that there might be something that was about to be sprung on them just made him more eager to locate Luke before anything happened. His friend hadn't been here long enough to have been exposed to any of the incidents that could take place in the institute, so he might not be as ready for it.
Frowning to himself, Guy slipped through the door at the end of the hall, leaving the block of rooms behind.

The side hall that Prussia's new room was on emptied out into the same hallway that his old one had been on, so at least this portion of the building had become familiar to him already. He glanced down the hall that his previous room had been on as he'd passed; he may not have been the occupant of it any more, but it was still his in his mind. If there were new occupants, that would make them his citizens... right?
He contemplated checking the room to see if there really was anyone there now, but quickly decided not to. He had work to do, and it was better to do it and get the hell out of here before he got attached to anyone or anything, land included.
He headed to the end of the hall and turned right.
