Nightshift 22: 2nd Floor - Staff Training Area

[from here]Hitting the floor so hard was definitely a jolt, but it really only knocked the wind out of him for a moment. Taking Seimei's hand, Ritsuka pulled himself to his feet and brushed himself off with his free hand. His flashlight lay on the ground nearby, and although he picked it up, he did not turn it on ( Read more... )

"I think we are safe for now." Seimei shut the door and shoved a chair under the knob; it would give them warning, at least, if anything tried to enter. If something came in a different way, well, it wasn't an obstruction that couldn't be cleared in a second.

He swept the flashlight around the area and took a step further into the room. "Hm, we should do a through search for anything we can use."

"It doesn't look like a storage area, but who knows, right?" He hadn't quite given up on his quest, and he hadn't forgotten his promise to Tamaki either. He watched his brother shove a chair under the door and, reassured that it was safe, started to explore.

Ritsuka clicked on his flashlight and pointed it toward the tables. There were three or four of them, all facing the front of the room. Along the walls he could see bookshelves lined up, so he went over to them and took one off the shelf. It was some sort of worn training manual talking about how to work with the mentally disturbed. He sighed and tucked the heavy book back into its place. Swinging his light around to illuminate the other side of the room, he could see nothing of note. "Looks like this is some sort of staff area."

"Well, this isn't what we are after, anyway. There's nothing here we can use. Unless we want to read these books and find out how to exploit their training." That -was- an idea, and he glanced over to Ritsuka with a soft smile.

"Which could be fun, however, the night is far from over and I doubt we want to lug these heavy things with us all night."

Ritsuka made a face at the offending book case and moved toward the door. He didn't particularly have any interest in exploiting the nurses during the day. They didn't bother him all that much, so he'd just let them do their job and keep ignoring them. "If you really want to read them, we can come back and grab some later. The lock's broken now anyway."

Tugging the chair away from the door, he pulled it open and peeked outside. It seemed there was a great commotion in the Sun Room downstairs. ...and a small burning sun floating in the emptiness above the room. Pulling the door open completely, Ritsuka spoke in quiet yet urgent tones as he pointed at the scientific impossibility. "Seimei, you have to see this!"
