Even though Zack felt like he needed a breather after listening to all of that, he knew it didn't work that way. He wasn't that weak! He'd keep going for as long as Aidou needed him to. That was how he operated.
"This Landel guy really has an interesting imagination," he commented, though he didn't come off as too bowled over by hearing about the ballroom and everything else. "So, those challenges you mentioned... what are they like? Do you know yet, or have you just heard about them from other people?" If Zack could find out what he was getting into beforehand, all the better. There was nothing like being prepared.
Turning to the left, the soldier realized that they were getting close. He wondered if the third member of their group was already waiting for them. Hopefully not, since that wouldn't have made the best first impression.

Unless Zack was a lot more impressive than he’d thought (or at the other end of the spectrum entirely), the man probably hadn’t digested half of what he’d said. And Aidou hadn’t even gotten through the whole dump of information yet. Despite having steered clear of selling himself out for these sorts of explanations, he still had no warm feelings for the learning curve here, but it would be foolish to gather a group only to let them go in blind.
… Which wasn’t a turn of phrase Sasuke would appreciate, but he didn’t exactly count…
“He’s an overgrown fanboy,” Aidou muttered half to himself, eyes narrowed. Sasuke was behind them, which meant they would indeed have to wait, though the hall seemed clear for the most part. From slobbering monsters, anyway.
As for the challenges, they continued to be the basement’s most interesting facet. What with the requirements they seemed to have, they represented a different face of the Institute. Not without their hardships as Aidou was ( ... )

Zack had to admit that it was tough to envision Martin Landel as some kind of fanboy. What was he a fan of, other than watching them all flounder in the dark hallways? He was curious to know what Aidou was getting at with that, but the teen had already moved on to answer his question ( ... )
