Day 48: Doctor's Office 7 (Dr. Suresh) [Fourth Shift]

Mar 15, 2010 23:53

The last session could have gone better and it could have gone worse. Mr. Verden's case didn't appear to be all that terrible. He might have just been classified too dangerous to stay at home and receive treatment from a regular therapist. Aside from that there was also one no-show, which was troubling. If he'd been released, it would have been ( Read more... )

With Nathan's disappearance (Peter hated having to classify it that way in his mind, but there weren't many other options anymore), Roland's death, and speaking with Tyki about Sylar all whirling around as problems in his mind, Peter hadn't had the chance to even consider therapy. Not until his nurse came up to him after lunch and told him that it was time to see his doctor, anyway.

Peter had thought about the issue of Mohinder countless times over the past week, of course. That meeting wasn't one that would easily be forgotten. Even if he hadn't made much progress with the man that first time, he had to hope that he could eventually get through to him or get some sort of reaction ( ... )

That was a start. At least he was willing to talk, not that he hadn't been willing before. Unfortunately, it was hard to tell just from that entrance and greeting whether or not there had been any improvement. The moment Zachary had stepped in there'd been an air of something different.

"Well enough." Mohinder returned the greeting with a smile and a nod of his head. He needed to keep Ethan from beating around the bush too much. Their allotted time wasn't long enough for that. "But of course we're not here to talk about how my day or week has been. We're here to talk about you. How have you been, Ethan?"

So perhaps that had been a bit straightforward, but it got the job done. He was the doctor and the other man was the patient. They were here for a therapy session and the atmosphere needed to remain professional. Otherwise it might become difficult not to count the similarities between him and the actual Peter Petrelli.

That had been a quick subject change. Peter could understand why a therapist would want to keep the conversation off of himself, but it still struck him as a little strange. Was there some reason Mohinder didn't want to talk about himself? Was it because too much of that would lead to the brainwashing wearing down? Peter knew he was jumping to conclusions, but it was easy to form hopes, especially when things were already so bad ( ... )

Harrison... that had been one of his previous no-shows. Unfortunately, he hadn't yet been given the word on what had actually happened to him. It was most likely that he'd been released just recently, but he couldn't pass the word on to Ethan unless he knew for sure. The man didn't know Harrison had been one of the other patients under his care. Right now there was no need for him to give him that information. "I'm afraid I don't know anything about that," he answered. It wasn't as if it was a lie ( ... )
