Night 47: Morgue

Feb 19, 2010 17:26

[From here]It took little to notice the drop in temperature as Tenzen entered the next area. Goosebumps appeared on his skin, though he refrained from the urge to shiver. He had to wonder how such a thing was possible; the hallway certainly hadn't been this cold and he had never heard of rooms aligned next to each other that were so drastically ( Read more... )

Mele glanced at the busted-in door even as she quickened her pace to catch up. Damn, that was two doors already. She'd want to come back to check those out later. "Do you just not talk, then? If it's so inefficient." Because if that was his reasoning, someone else did it better! If Rio didn't want to answer something, he didn't.

"Mele," she responded as he chose the noisiest way to open the door. She would have said something, but Mele couldn't imagine the other doors had been opened without force. Still, it made her antsy, and her gaze flickered to the darkness around them before following.

...And into cold storage. No, this was way colder. Mele shivered, instinctively bringing up her left hand to rub at her bare arm. "What's with this room?" she muttered, ducking around Tall Guy Yakushiji and shining the flashlight around. Were those beds? In this air?

Walking into the room was like walking into the precinct morgue -- a wall of cold, dry air hit her as she stepped in. Lana swung her flashlight around for a quick overview. Cabinets lined the walls, and a handful of beds made makeshift examination tables. It was a morgue.

There were also two more people in the room. A man was exploring the cabinets, and a young woman was completely ill-dressed for the temperature and looking uncomfortable, though whether it was the temperature or the setting, Lana wouldn't know without asking. She pulled her jacket closed, and stepped further into the room, giving Harvey room to enter as well. She looked back over her shoulder at him -- he'd sounded irked at not being here first, though after a week he must have had previous opportunities. Should she let him handle the introductions? Probably; it would put him in charge of their two-man team, and she was more than willing to cede the position right now.

It looked like they'd finally caught up with the other pair of patients. Harvey paused near the doorway for a moment as he looked over the two people. What stood out the most was the impractical outfit that the woman was wearing, but Harvey wasn't going to comment on that now -- not when there were far more interesting things to take note of ( ... )

To at least determine the purpose of this strangely cold room, Tenzen decided to investigate the cabinets before moving to the next area. He walked up to one of them, but before he could open one of the drawers, two individuals entered the room after them. With the amount of patients imprisoned, he supposed it was only natural multiply people would stumble upon the same area ( ... )
