[from here]The fresh air, though a bit chilly and damp as it seeped through her uniform, was refreshing. Knowing the area to be dangerous, Momo stopped a bit away from the door and scanned the field as her eyesight adjusted to the light cast from the moon. She didn't see any movement, nor did she hear any. Perhaps she'd arrived before the

She was almost to the wall when she paused again, narrowing her eyes as she searched the darkness that lay at the far end of the field. The predators of the Institute she'd crossed paths with, save for the shadow, all announced their presence. The silence of the field would have been unnerving if she were not a vice captain. As it was, she repositioned her angle as she resumed her movement toward the wall to cover her left side. She did not expect anything to drop down from the top of the wall, but she wasn't about to rule it out.

Argilla strode out onto the recreational field, showing no fear at all as she headed out into the centre of it. She moved quickly but confidently, content that Junpei was following her. She took up position, an easy, loose stance which allowed her to swing the pickaxe easily and then she stared intently up at the sky, waiting for one of those birds, her prey, to come to her.

He shifted his attention briefly to Argilla. He watched her a bit and was silently amazed. She was calm, collected and appeared to be ready for anything. Then he reminded himself that she wanted something to come for her. This... wasn't how he pictured hunting to be. Where was the stalking and stuff?

Kagura cautiously stepped out onto the recreation field. She could see a number of humanoid figures but no monsters. Even so, she wasn't about to let her guard down. She pushed her spiritual senses to the limit, sensing for any nearby hostile intent towards her group.
"Is that the shed?" Kagura asked, pointing towards the small building in the distance.

"I thought my nurse was on fire..." Sokka admitted with a shake of his head, "But I've thought that before. Not with a nurse, but... yeah... so that's what it feels like to get drugged in this... uh... world? I know that cactus juice does that kind of thing to you back home. And vulturebeeswax..." The wax not so much, but Sokka hadn't been really right when he'd tried that horrid stuff.
When they got outside, he looked around the place and spotted the shed in question. Creepy shed, being creepy in the moonlight at a creepy place. Yeah, Sokka didn't like that so much. "That... doesn't look so inviting..." he commented, being captain obvious as usual.

When they reached their destination, Kagura tried the door, but it wouldn't budge. Not a problem. The lock looked old and rusted; breaking in would be easy for Kagura. That would cause some noise, but there wasn't really any way around it. Kagura didn't really feel like standing out in the cold.
Concerned she might damage her flashlight, Kagura tucked it into the waistband of her pants and took a loose stance with her clothes rod held in both hands. While Kagura might not have looked strong, her lean body had been honed through years of martial arts training and real combat experience. It only took her a single swing to smash through the lock, and with that out of the way, she nudged the door open and switched her flashlight back on.

It was colder outside for sure and Honey couldn't help shivering once they'd opened the door and reached the field. No giant car robots this time, he noted, fairly pleased about that at least. There was a fence for them to climb too and that didn't even seem that hard. If that was the case, maybe this way would be easier in the future. Just up and over, right?

No, there it was. Mori froze as he saw something drop from the sky and head toward a pair standing in the middle of the field. He almost felt like running to their aid, but he sensed more of those things up on the rooftops and turned to look. Sure enough, dark outlines were perched along the edge, watching. It was a choice between getting Mitsukuni over the wall and somewhere closer to their goal or taking on an entire flock of flesh-eating birds. Besides, why had those two just been...standing there? It was as if they were waiting for some reason - maybe for those things to attack ( ... )

And over the fence was the Courtyard, right? And then beyond that, the Cafeteria and they were home free! It did look like there were some kind of ominous birds circling here and there, but hopefully they wouldn't be a threat. At any rate, they weren't the only ones with the idea to fence hop. Maybe they'd have some company in the kitchen!

Close quarters could be dangerous, but wide-open spaces like the recreational field weren't a hell of a lot safer--especially not with those big birds perched on the edge of the roof, Indy realized almost as soon as he got out onto the grass. He had a feeling Landel wasn't the kind of guy to hang out birdfeeders. The few people out here were mostly moving fast, trying to get over the back wall before anything dive-bombed them.
Smart move. Indy nodded sharply toward the wall for Dent's benefit and started off across the field.

Jones hadn't said anything about it so far -- it looked like he was just determined to keep going. Understandable, seeing how Harvey had made them wait around for nothing. Now he wished that he'd just brushed off Jason from the start. Well, he'd learned his lesson.
Still, he wasn't going to argue if Jones preferred quietly sneaking by to blazing heroics. Though when Harvey's gaze centered on the wall that they were eventually going to reach, he realized they were going to have to scale it. He was athletic to an extent, but he wasn't quite sure how he was going to pull this one off.
Well, he'd figure it out.
"How far is it, anyway?" he asked, keeping his tone down so as not to attract that bird-thing's attention.

Not to mention Harvey was hardly a woodsy kind of guy. He would have left Gotham if he'd had any reason to want to be outside a metropolitan area.
He wasn't going to hold his breath when it came to them not getting attacked, though. "We'll see," he muttered, unconvinced. Watching Jones stuff his flashlight in his jacket with narrowed eyes (wasn't he lucky), Harvey stood by as the other man scaled the wall rather easily. While he was equally miffed that the archaeologist had such an easy time of it (and his profession was an obvious clue as to why ( ... )
