Dinner-cake included-sat untouched on the desk, surrounded by her growing collection of colorful origami animals and guarded by her notebook. Her three knives were lined up on the bed in order of size alongside her old outfit, with the wakizashi next to them; the Four Point was propped up carefully on the side of the bed

Well rested, the youkai woke up when the intercom went off. Uncharacteristically, she was out of bed quite quickly, no grogginess or yawning. She let the girl avoid her all day so far, but it was time to go find her and set things straight.
Quickly heading down the hall, Yukari burst in the room mere seconds after the head doctor finished talking, not bothering to knock. Hopefully the ninja hadn't been even faster.
"Good evening!" she announced brightly with a smile, standing in the doorway. "I'm here for one sulky girl who's been avoiding me all day!"

"I am not sulking! And that's a real good way to get exploded," she snapped back. "Do you even understand the concept of knocking? I could have been getting changed or something."
And then her brain caught up to her mouth, causing her to immediately turn away from Yukari. The dress... the words... was it really her youkai? She'd turned away so the brief moment of hope that had flickered across her face hadn't been seen. As things stood, she wasn't sure if she even wanted to look and see if it really was her youkai. The last thing she needed right then was to get her hopes up only to find out 'Violet' was pretending to be Yukari again.
"Go back to your room. I'm not babysitting you tonight," she said in a quiet, extremely controlled voice.

"Walking in while you're changing is half the point!" she said with a big grin as she stepped inside. Despite what she was here for, she gave no indication of noticing Sheena's unease or knowing the cause of it.
"And I don't need babysitting; am I not allowed to bother my favorite ninja?" she asked, coming up behind the girl and lightly laying her hands on her shoulders. Seeing as how Sheena was the only ninja Yukari knew at this time - certain play-acting ghosts aside - it wasn't a lie.

Her plans were foiled by the sound of footsteps.
By the sound of a voice.
Yuffie froze. Just-stopped, before her head came up a fraction of a inch. This is real, she had to remind herself, her hands quivering by her sides. As real as all the rivers of Wutai. They'd spoken on the bulletin board; what more proof could she ask for? Nobody but the other Gaians would know who Aerith was, and none of them had the guts or the stupidity to try imitating her even in writing (hopefully; the Turks were always a wild card, but they were rarely suicidal). And Cloud-he wouldn't. Simple as that ( ... )

"That's right." Aerith said simply. She paused, inspecting Yuffie's face to make sure she wouldn't run away or something. "I'm sorry. I know it's kind of hard to take, but..." She took a final step and moved to wrap her arms around the younger woman. "...I'm really happy to see you again."

Upon reaching his destination, Cloud heard voices coming from within and paused just outside the door. Right. It was Yuffie's turn to go through the impossible reunion. He wanted to give them time to talk without him around, but standing out in the hallway might attract unwanted attention they could do without. He knocked on the door, giving them time to realize he'd be coming in before pushing the door slowly open.
"Hey, am I interrupting something?" he asked with a smile, trying to keep the mood light-hearted despite everything.

The hall felt a lot darker and scarier when Bridget wasn't there to hold her hand. But there was no time to sit and be afraid, she decided. Steeling her nerves, she hurried out into the night.

Without a word to the youma she had been confined with, Teresa left the room and breathed deeply of the untainted air. She wasn't sure how long her patience could last before she let the instinct trained into her take over and killed that youma.

She whipped her flashlight out and tied her hair up with the read head protector emblazoned with the leaf village's symbol. Raphael wanted to see a real ninja in action? Well he was about to get the surprise of his life tonight!

"So now what?" he asked. "We go get whatever it was from that friend of yours?"
Man this was a boring night. Things got more exciting on the ice cream runs he and the others used to go on. At least then it was pretty much guaranteed to get busted up by the Foot, the Purple Dragons, or someone else with a bone to pick. Of course, it always worked out so that happened when a fight was the last thing they wanted, and the times where Raph really needed to pound a punk's face into the dirt, there was no one to be found. So maybe this was working out exactly like it did back home anyway.

"Yeah," she sniffed, dusting her hands off. "M7. And then we're free to do whatever."
