Right as Harvey and Jason had been gearing up to break open yet another door, Harvey's vision had gone completely black and the next thing he knew, it was morning. Just like always ( ... )

[OOC: Sure, one more should be fine, though caveat: I'm probably going to be slooooow. And vK here won't be the greatest company as if he ever really were. X3 ]

"Mr. Fuchs! Come on! You've already missed breakfast. Are you planning to stay in this dreary room all day?"

Manfred von Karma shot the blasted nurse a defiant look, his arms folded and anger rumbling in his chest. Like hell was he willing to show his face in public today. Not after what had happened yesterday and the night prior to that. Never mind that this was all Martin Landel's doing. Oh, he would make the insolent bastard pay for the humiliating torture two nights ago... and for the mind-tampering that had manifested yesterday, in front of five too many people at that ( ... )

Harvey had been so busy thinking about how he was going to handle his encounter with Tim that there was something of a delay in him noticing that someone had sat down nearby. When he did have the presence of mind to glance over, all he saw was an older man glaring at him.

On one hand, it was nice not having to deal with yet another kid. A lot of the people here were young, and the generation gap could both make things awkward and make him feel old. Still, this stranger looked downright cantankerous, and Harvey wasn't sure if the man was looking at him like that because of the bandages wrapped around half of his face or just because he felt like it.

Still, no manner book said that it was okay to just stare at someone like that, and so Harvey let out a half-angry sigh as he regarded the older man.

"I was here first, if you hadn't noticed." He wasn't going to get up and move just because this guy had an attitude problem.

By now, von Karma was certain that he had never met this man after all. Though his attempt to scowl an identity out of his seatmate proved ineffective, the voice and diction were neither that he recognized. It was most likely safe enough to continue sitting here -- even though this stranger seemed to want to claim territorial rights to the entire couch.

Making no move to get up, the older man closed his eyes as he finally responded. "I beg your pardon. There is a conspicuous lack of unoccupied seating in this room." Which, to him, was true; a number of those furry little nuisances were needlessly taking up what would have been otherwise available seats. "The past few days have been especially trying for me. Were it up to me, I wouldn't even be in here right now. However, the blasted nurse gave me no choice." The lines in his forehead deepened at these words, and he clenched onto his left arm ( ... )

While it had been nice to getting to know Anthy, his talk with her had actually brought up more questions rather than answering any of his original ones. Well, he had learned a few things, such as the fact that there was brainwashing going on, that there were monsters around at night, and that the nurses and whoever else was orchestrating this wanted them to believe they were completely different people ( ... )

Having still been busy just trying to get used to how weird it felt to be alive and well, Zack had only vaguely sensed that someone was approaching him. Before he could properly tune back into what was going on around him, he was met with a bright pair of green eyes. Not as bright as his own, but that was because this stranger obviously wasn't a part of SOLDIER.

He did have bright red hair, though. While the shade was almost exactly the same as Reno's, the style was much closer to his own. Maybe that's why the guy was staring at him like that? But there was nothing wrong with having similar hairdos, was there ( ... )

Now, Axel wasn't really one to care about personal space, so it didn't really matter how the latter reacted. After all, even if the first impression was bad that certainly didn't lead to anything conclusive. However, it was a pleasant surprise when the man finally responded, offering him a teasing remark and a simple smile for his effort.

"Oh? So this mirror talks?" The Nobody ignored the latter's invitation for a moment, deciding to have a little fun now that the man opened himself up for it. He finally pulled back, crossing his arms and offered him an amused smile. "It's a shame it doesn't show off my better features."

And with that the redhead fell back into the couch, taking a moment to settle into a more comfortable position before flashing the guy with a lazy grin.

"So what brings you here, stranger?"

Terry left breakfast feeling sorry for Forte, but he couldn't exactly let that keep him from getting his own plans done. Which was why he made a line straight for the bulletin once he got into the Sun Room, looking for answers that scanning faces in the cafeteria hadn't provided. Tim Drake had answered, and things were looking good there at least. But the one person he wanted to hear from most still hadn't replied, and Terry slammed a fist against the corkboard in frustration ( ... )

At least someone was okay, in some sense of the word. Peter looked about as cheerful as Terry felt just then, and Terry couldn't help but wonder what he'd found out that had him so obviously down. But they'd gotten the whole "don't ask, don't tell" thing pretty established, so Terry decided not to pry. He'd listen, sure; he liked Peter and all. But possible friendship didn't equal spilling out their deepest darkest secrets. He hadn't even told Dana that he was Batman yet (and hadn't had to, since Max found out and helped him cover). For all he knew, Peter kept it the same with the people he was closest to back home. So just opening up to a relative stranger? Yeah, not something that happened in their line of work ( ... )

That was a pretty annoying announcement, Luke decided, as he was ushered away from the cafeteria into the sun room by the same nurse who had greeted him when he woke up. It was the first time he heard one all the way through and without the grogginess of sleep getting in the way, and he counted himself lucky for having managed to skip the majority of the past ones. Somehow, it was worsened by the fact that he was being forced to leave where he was and head to a different room. He wanted to stay by Guy's side and talk about other things-like maybe encourage Guy to talk about the different machines here-but it didn't seem like a good idea ( ... )

Sync wanted to die.

It wasn't a thought primarily induced from the pain he was feeling, but that wasn't to say that it didn't contribute to the final product. No, these thoughts weren't new at all, and yet he never seemed to reach that point. It was as if fate itself was mocking his hatred for life, refusing to give him that he wanted more than anything simply because he didn't appreciate what he already had.

But what was there to appreciate when he was already born a failure?

Green eyes slowly opened, lingering thoughts of his dreams dissipating when the pain finally hit him in full. The God-General gritted his teeth, but other than that he showed no outward discomfort. There were more important things to worry about, to painfully swallow and digest like everything else in this damned prison. The very thought of 'last night' made his blood boil, features contorting into a snarl for those few seconds. As much as he refused to believe it ever happened his injuries proved him otherwise, sending shocks throughout his body when he ( ... )

It was really amazing how already simmering frustration could bubble over so quickly at the sound of one person's voice. Though it was the same as Ion's, Sync had a way of melding his voice that made him very uniquely him-it was the sole reason why, he imagined, that they hadn't been able to figure out his identity sooner. Then again, Asch and Luke didn't sound terribly similar, as Asch had a way of making his constant irritation noticeable. In a way, though, Luke wished Sync sounded-or rather, was-Ion, because he missed him. That was unfair, but given what Sync had done to his friend, he didn't feel that it was an entirely displaced notion. Ion wouldn't hurt anyone, but Sync-he was different, like all the God-Generals, and unwilling to let go of his past bitterness.

As it was, Luke wasn't very good at hiding the fact that he was irritated by the sudden appearance of the God-General. He carefully laid down his journal and glared at Sync, teeth grinding hard at the sight of him. He killed Guy. Though he hadn't been there, the fact ( ... )

For a brief moment there was a trace of surprise in Sync's features as he stared the replica down, the latter's expression perfectly mimicking that of Aschs's. It was no surprise that his presence was often scowled at, because he could say with confidence that the feelings were certainly mutual. Yet this was the first time he'd ever come across Luke since he arrived, so he was a bit of a conundrum. It was strange; Asch had always been easy to spot in a crowd, and this bastard's hair stuck out even more so than the useless God-General. However, the latter's words threw him off for a moment, before it was all gone in a flash ( ... )

Guy entered the Sun Room feeling far better than when he'd woken up this morning. It was remarkable how just talking with Luke again could improve his mood so drastically, but that was just how it went when you were separated from a friend for a while and didn't even know where they were. He watched as the redhead moved over to the bulletin board and smiled to himself ( ... )

The transition from night to day had been abrupt, though not really unexpected. By now Claude had gotten used to waking up in his bed at the strangest times, so when he opened his eyes and saw the white ceiling staring down at him, he automatically shuffled around to hide his things before the nurse came. As he did so, however, his thoughts continually buzzed with last night's revelations.

Dias and Guy -- alive? Was it true, or had they narrowly missed a fatal encounter with another one of Landel's tricks? He'd probably need to check on Celes over the board if he couldn't find her in person. And then there was Anise to see to. As well as to verify whether his friends were truly back or not ( ... )

Guy had been so taken up in working through the pain that he didn't realize someone had walked up until he heard Claude's excited exclamation. His shoulders straightened as he looked up and saw a surprised (and almost happy) look on his friend's face.

Of course he was back. Hadn't they seen each other last night? Still, Guy could understand why it would be hard to believe even after all that. People weren't supposed to be capable of waking up after a broken neck, but Landel's had always proved itself capable of working outside the realm of the ordinary ( ... )

That had probably been a weird way to greet him, but he'd barely allowed himself to believe that Guy had actually come back until now. Running into him in the light of day like this was not only a huge relief, but a shock in of itself. He wouldn't have thought that Landel would just give someone back right after taking them away. But maybe it was better not to look a gift horse in the mouth, and to just accept this for what it was ( ... )
