After leaving his worthless roommate behind, Jason quickly took off along the hall. His head, along with most of the rest of him, still ached but he wasn't letting that slow him down. He was supposed to be meeting Two-Face and if he got knocked out before he got there again he'd never live it down.

He hadn't managed to grab his flashlight or machete before leaving and it was going to be a pain in the ass making do without them. There was generally enough light in these halls to navigate by but he'd be in trouble if he got into any of the darker areas. And he hated being completely unarmed. But he didn't have a choice now. He couldn't go back to get what he wanted without risking another confrontation, and that would be an even bigger pain in the ass. Making do with what was available, Jason made his way down the hall.

No sign of his roommate, it seemed.

Even more curiously, the other half of the room appeared to have been rearranged neatly, with its contents set in precisely the same places Faize had found his few tools upon arrival. It was as though the other half of the room had been prepared for a new patient.

Did that mean Valyn was not returning? It was troubling, but it seemed to be the case.

After a long, quiet dinner, the doors finally unlocked, and Faize was able to set out for the night. With his flashlight in hand, the Eldarian made his way down and out of the hallway.

[backdated to before phoenix and edgeworth's thread]As soon as he finished scarfing down dinner, Giovanni cleaned up his dishes and sat down at his desk to write in the marbled composition book, charting the day's events - what he had done, who he had encountered, what information he'd learned. (The last category had a lot fewer words in it than Giovanni would have liked.) Even though he didn't think he had much to write, the time between dinner and lights-out passed quickly. Not even thirty seconds after the doors unlocked, he was up and out of bed, heading to the closet to get a sturdier pair of shoes - and as soon as he opened the door, he could tell that one of those outfits wasn't standard Landel's issue ( ... )

Unproductiveness was something Aidou couldn’t accept. A handful of unproductive days and nights (really, an unproductive month when he was still here, still captured) went against his very nature--but that was his reality. During the day, he sat around and ate, and during the night, well… About the only thing he had accomplished with any regularity was getting enough blood to keep himself sated at the bare minimum.

There were so many things left undone. The discovery of the abandoned town, for one, the basement… and there was that whole bounty hunter business, but Aidou had seen neither contractor nor informant in a tellingly long amount of time for Landel’s, so that seemed to have run its course. What was left? Sasuke and his many problems. The noble had been spending 90% of his time in the human’s presence lately, and it was not really a comfort to know that Sasuke was having even more of an upsetting, frustrating time of it than he was. All in all, it seemed Sasuke had been made “sane” that day. If those involved went on to keep ( ... )
