Night 45: M101-M110 Hallway

Nov 21, 2009 15:11

After finishing his meal, decided talking to his (still in denial) roommate wasn't going to do him much good, and turned to journal in his desk. He figured, if it was so helpful talking to other recovering patients, he could try some self-therapy by just writing about his home and family ( Read more... )

Knowing he should really, really just go to sleep, Frank stumbled to the head of his bed, reached under the pillow, and found... a flashlight. Why would a patient in a hospital need a flashlight? Well, maybe Forte stole it and had forgotten... that made sense.

When he turned on the flashlight, though, he didn't see Minato.

"Hello? Minato?"

Had he snuck out somehow when Frank wasn't looking? Or had an orderly someone come to get him for that counseling? Or was Frank just... dreaming?

Still knowing that he shouldn't, he put the flashflight in his pocket so he could hold his crutches again and stepped out the door.

"Hello...? Does anyone know what's going on? Is anyone else's door unlocked?"

He had a sinking feeling that this was all just a sign he was losing it again, it was so like the dreams he'd been having the first week he was here, but he continued down the hallway in the dark.

Once Chekov heard the doors unlock, he was up off of his bed and out the door. Flashlight on and in hand, he proceeded cautiously down the hallway. According to his notes, Commander Spock's quarters were located in M27. The adjoining hallway wasn't far, fortunately--just awkward to get to.

Chekov didn't like feeling so naked while walking around in the dark, though. Last time he'd had Captain Kirk with him at the very least. Going to meet Commander Spock without any protection made him very nervous to say the least. Well, at least if he met anything he could just turn around and run back to his room.

At least the hallway was clear, for now.

The second announcement was strange, unexpected. It was as if the head doctor had left the intercom on accidentally while speaking to someone else on staff (and Heath mused that he probably had). What was stranger still, however, was the distinctive click of the door unlocking once he was finished. That wasn't usual, was it ( ... )

Lugnut looked up from his dull-eyed stupor as the doors unlocked, and wondered if he should even bother.

He was... alone. As alone as he'd ever been, without Blitzwing, without Lord Megatron, without a hope of getting out to find them, even Scourge and-- and the Maximal abandoning him. He might as well give up, give in, let this place consume him as it had his fellow Decepticons... after all, he had failed them, let them be taken, and even now he was helpless, useless, utterly defeated by this place.

Better to end it now, on his own terms, instead of waiting to be destroyed...

Leaving his baseball bat hidden, and only taking the flashlight after a few long minutes of consideration, Lugnut stepped out into the hall.

Even when the intercom once again clicked on, the doors unlocked and his roommate left, Scar remained seated on his bed. His hands clutched both the steel pipe and the portable light, indicating he was ready to go. But he wasn't. He hesitated.

What if...what if he'd run into that thing again ( ... )
