Just because he didn't see any enemies didn't mean they weren't lurking out there. The nightshift was radically different from the dayshift. As soon as night

Fortunately, Faize had visited the courtyard many times during his few days at Landel's. Even in the dark, it was easy to find his bearings and determine which way to go. While that knowledge wasn't entirely necessary when Hitsugaya seemed to know his way around just as well, it was still comforting to have that level of awareness of his surroundings.
Making very little sound as he moved, Faize quickly joined the boy behind the tree. There didn't appear to be any unnatural creatures in the immediate area, but Faize knew better than to assume they were safe, and so he remained alert.

He swiftly moved to regroup with Faize and Hitsugaya, careful to remain as quiet as possible.

What it seemed to be was a soft sobbing, like that of a lost child seeking its home, plaintive and lonely. The sound slowly grew in volume, though, as the three moved through the area, and for a moment it seemed that something could be seen standing by the outer wall - but its outline was faint and indistinct.

Hitsugaya's hand grasped the door knob. It was locked, but the knob seemed rusted. Perhaps he could break it down. A swift kick jarred the door, and he could see he was making progress. The noise might attract something, but that couldn't be helped at this point. One or two more kicks should do the trick.

Nathan landed on the other side of the wall with a small oof, almost knocked from his feet. He frowned - he usually landed better than that, but gravity had pushed him down a little harder than he was used to. It was like he was getting accustomed to having these powers all over again. It hadn't been that long that he'd had them, all things considered, but he didn't exactly feel the need to go through the "learning period" again.
Quickly turning, Nathan stared up towards the top of the wall, waiting for Peter to come over it. Minutes passed, though, and nothing was happening - and even when Nathan strained his ears, he couldn't hear what was going on on the other side of the stone wall.
"Damnit," he growled, turning hopeful eyes back towards the sky. C'mon, Pete. C'mon. Come over.
Nathan was already feeling stupid for leaving Peter on the other side. He should have made Pete climb on him so he could take them both over at the same time... It wasn't exactly like he'd never supported Peter's weight while flying before.

Even if Nathan had tried to come back for him, though, would he have really seen much of anything? Peter kind of doubted it, since what he'd just been through had definitely been some sort of intense hallucination, or maybe even a dream ( ... )
