(coming from

Yes, of course he could fight. Did he really look so harmless. Katan supposed he must. He carried no visible weapons, but then, he never had. He'd always had his power blasts -- he had no need for weapons. He had a sneaking suspicion that those wouldn't work. Katan sighed inwardly at the prospect of physical combat. He really didn't relish the thought. But, as long as his strength hadn't been dampened too terribly much, he could fight, definitely. And if he could manage to get his hands on a weapon, so much the better, although he wasn't holding his breath for a gun. That would be ideal, and nothing here, so far, was anywhere near ideal.
"Yes. I can fight."
Simple. To the point. No inflection, no indication of his apprehension.
He realized the boy knew his name, but he'd never bothered to ask the boy's. Now was as good a time as any, he supposed. That, and he wanted to know where they were going, as though any description the replica could give him would be helpful, considering he knew nothing of this place ( ... )

He opened the first door and peered into what seemed to be a simple bedroom like his own just as the man behind him asked where they were going. "Searching rooms," he answered, stepping inside and squinting through the darkness for anything that looked useful. Whoever this room belonged to, they weren't here right now. Finders keepers.
The replica scowled when his companion acted offended that he hadn't introduced himself before. "I don't have a name," he answered in a similarly offended tone, though his response was much less angry than he usually sounded in reply to this question. Maybe he was getting used to it or something. Scary thought.

"Searching rooms"
For what...? Katan started to ask the question before it dawned on him. He wasn't Rosiel -- if the batteries in the flashlight ran out, he couldn't make it run. They were looking for more supplies like their own. He followed the boy into the room, clicking on his flashlight and quickly sweeping the darkness. The room appeared identical to the one he'd woken up in only hours before. If there had been no occupant in the room, would the flashlight be in the same place? He hadn't searched his own room very througoughly -- he would be wise to check this one better. Just a flashlight wouldn't get them far. At the very least, the boy at least had the pipe ( ... )

He looked at the man out of the corner of his eye, annoyed. "Me, that's who. If you saw the monsters in this place, you'd understand. Hand to hand combat is a BAD idea." He pointed to his injured shoulder. "This is from a fight with a sword. I wouldn't be here if I'd been unarmed."
When Katan turned on his flashlight, the replica reached back and turned it off. "Light will only attract them. I don't need it, so you don't either." There. If he was in charge, he called the shots.
"I remember not having a name myself once."
The replica turned back to look at the other man in surprise. Was he a replica, too?
"Rosiel-sama changed that when he gave me a body.""..." So this Rosie was a scientist, like Vexen? He wondered what Katan had been before he got a body. Strange mental images of brains being tucked into robot craniums came to mind ( ... )
