Tonight would be productive. If not, Beatrix was going to kill someone.
Securing all her weaponry, the assassin left her room, not even bothering to speak with her roommate. The less time she spent in her room, the less time she and the others had to meet their goals. As it was, it was good to hear Landel's voice.
Callisto found herself in the hallway outside her room. Problem was, she couldn't recall how she'd gotten there. Given the strange things that went on regularly in this place, however, she wasn't going to worry about it for too long. The most important issue was that it was nighttime again, and she was going to try once again to actually get somewhere.
Where that somewhere would be, she had no idea. It seemed like no matter where she tried nowadays she ended up waking back up in her room without having covered much distance at all. Perhaps she'd try somewhere new this time? The other patient blocks for example. She needed better options in traveling companions, and the best way to find someone useful would be to pick them out herself.
So far, so good. Daphne had managed to get through the day and through dinner without having any urge to go for anyone's throat. Without any hint of undue thirst or light sensitivity, for that matter. Of course, for all she knew of vampires, even if she was infected it was possible nothing would have presented until after nightfall anyways. In light of that, her roommate departing without so much as a word was almost a relief.
She situated herself on the bed with her legs crossed, only to spring up and pace the narrow space between the room's two beds before more than a minute had passed. She looked at the door, longingly. She wished the doors had a lock, one she could use from the inside rather than rely on the nurses using.
Somehow, she doubted they'd have any complaints at all about monsters amongst the patient populace. It was just a hunch.
Falis came to a halt in front of F16. Katana resting casually on her shoulder and several foot long wooden stakes hanging form the braided bandoleer about her waist, the hunter knocked on the door.
Hopefully, whoever this latest victim was, she hadn't decided to wander off because Falis was really fucking late getting to this meeting. She snorted to herself. Leaving would be a fucking stupid thing to do. Hopefully, this woman wasn't stupid.
This, Daphne realized as she darted over to the door, could be a really bad idea. She'd been assuming that this Hunter wanted to help, but there was always a chance the people here would be concerned enough about the possibility of monsters to simply hunt anyone who might be turned into one down.
Still, she wasn't long on options, and she trusted her speed to get her away from anyone who might be inclined to do her harm. Mostly. Assuming they weren't another speedster.
She pulled the door open, almost before the last knock finished falling, and smiled a quick, edgy sort of smile as she took in the other woman. Taller than her, but most people were. Blonde, and pretty, in spite of the obvious injuries she was sporting. She hadn't, for some reason, expected that.
She stepped aside, squashing her case of nerves down as she did so, and her smile took on its customary masking edge of mischief. "Hi," she said. "I'm Daphne. How do we do this?"
Falis took in the woman that answered the door, suppressing the urge to rip off a tasty chunk of flesh from this latest victim, and gave a nod as she stepped into the room.
"First things first, I need to take a look at the bite," the hunter explained as she turned away to rest her sword against the nearby wall. "How about you go sit on the bed and take those bandages off?"
The next level, huh? Well, well, well. Looked like everyone was trying to up the ante lately. Far be it for Harley to not match up. She had a lot of work to do if she was going to do that. She dug through her closet and pulled our Bucky, the paint thinner, and the schmitar. Harley stripped off her pillowcase and finally grabbed her flashlight before finally heading out. She sure had a big load on her tonight, huh? Good thing most of it was dropping stuff off.
The ghost, alone in her room, had listened to the announcement with aplomb. There was nothing about this situation that was the least bit normal for her to begin with, so the sudden shift in tone in the announcements didn't worry her. She was exactly where she had been; dragged into the middle of some incident, perpetrators unknown.
And they'd even brought her dinner right after her late lunch. That was almost as nice as a summer snow...
It didn't seem like there was much for her to do here, but it was boring to just sit around when she could hear people moving around outside. And she might even get something else to eat...!
Spirits buoyed by the thought, the ghost wandered happily out into the hall.
