[from
here]It was quiet so far up here. Sam couldn't see anyone around unlike how it'd been downstairs. Which actually put him in more of his comfort zone, really. Wasn't often they did a hunt while other people were strolling through the halls of what basically amounted to an abandoned building and he could never shake the feeling he needed to

And there it was again, this time the glimpse of pipes flashing past his vision as he stepped out of the stairwell. A blink, and it was gone.
Javert ignored it as he headed toward the experimental stairwell. It was probably too early in the night for anything to have happened so far, but there was no harm in waiting.

Just a klik!
Depth Charge skidded to a sudden jerky halt as something flickered in the corner of his eye. So much for tunnel-vision. Immediately he swept his light around the area, searching every nook and cranny and finding nothing at all. Was he losing it, or-
There! Another ghost to his side, like an exhaled breath in cold weather, darted out of his field of vision. He whipped around to greet it, only to find... nothing. Again. For a moment Depth Charge backed himself up against a wall, teeth gritted. Was something trying to screw with him, or was he really in danger?
It didn’t matter. There was no stopping now. He pressed on.

Wooden Geta clicked softly against the floor as he approached, head down. A large man with wild, white hair wearing clothes of blood red and deathly gray. He seemed unarmed. Seemed, anyways.
As he approached Depth Charge, his head raised, his face expressionless. "Go back to your room."

He shot the man a glare, hefting the crow bar effortlessly up onto his shoulder in demonstration. "You gonna make me, big guy?"

"Kuchiyose: Gamaguchi Shibari! [Summoning: Toad Mouth Bind!]" he shouted, symbols appearing on the ground in a circle around his hand.
The hall became anything but a hall, the ceiling, floor, and walls becoming the pink lining of a toad's esophagus. The lining moved as if it were alive. Especially the lining around Depth Charge's feet, where it seemed like he was starting to sink in slightly.
The man remained in his crouch, completely still and silent. Your move, Depth Charge.

As the group entered the second floor hallway, it hit Kratos that something was terribly wrong. Maybe it was the fact that the hall was now a giant tunnel lined with quivering pink flesh - which most assuredly wasn't normal, even for the institute.
What kind of spell is this? His magical knowledge was fairly extensive, and yet Kratos had never come across anyone capable of making a large area resemble someone's insides. He couldn't even begin to think of the elemental affinities required for something like this.
The swordsman tensed, causing the floor beneath him to dip under the pressure. "Special Counseling, I think," he said tersely, just loud enough to carry to Hitsugaya in the front. It was the only explanation he could think of for the weird transformation - and the sounds of a fight.

Special Counseling, they called it? It was difficult to imagine that brainwashing could lead to something so incredibly bizarre ( ... )

Pink, gooey stuff? It sprung under his feet, it was everywhere, and he was pretty sure that it was alive. He wasn't even certain why he felt that way, but he remembered what it had been like to be stuck in Monstro, and this felt similar. (It was a whole lot grosser, though.)
He heard Kratos suggest that it was Special Counseling, but even that was hard to believe. Someone had the power to turn a hallway into this? Sora peered around, looking for some indication of what had happened, or even a way out, but that was when he heard a fight going on a little ahead of them. Maybe a brainwashed patient really had done this, then ( ... )

The voice of the inter-prison communication system made Edgar pause. He wasn't sure what it was saying, but the vaguely melodic noise was unsettling nonetheless.
"What in blazes was that?" he asked aloud to both himself and his traveling companion.

"Some messed up announcement, obviously!" she answered. Then again, since that guy died last night those messages were pretty weird ever since. The ones during the day sounded pretty weird if anyone asked her.
"Che! No clue what this crap's about, but there's no sense in standing around and thinking about it." The fireworks master continued after a moment. Which only left to decide which room to raid first.

He eyed Kuukaku carefully, trying to guess what she'd do next. "You have a map of some sort, I presume, so you know where we're headed?"

"What the hell is this bullshit?!" she yelled to no one in particular.
[ooc; any place you want them to go?]
