Night 43: F11-F20 Hall

Aug 29, 2009 22:39

[in F12]Momo had almost considered not changing into her uniform given how injured she was, but she grit her teeth and slipped the black fabric on, feeling instantly more comfortable than she had before. Still, the thick bandaging on her left arm made it impossible to attach her vice captain's badge, so she set it inside her desk drawer for safe ( Read more... )

Raine was actually grateful when the intercom sounded; she listened to the announcement closely, but even though what she heard was unexpected even for here she was out the door the second she could be. She really was concerned about Sheena... but she also just wanted to get away from Harley.

At least the women's block was reasonably small; F20 wasn't even out of Raine's way. Knocking once, she called, "Is Yukari there? It's Raine, Sheena's friend."

At least she was friendly. Raine reached into her pocket and held out the ribbons. "Sheena asked me to give these to you; she's not feeling well at the moment, so she's staying in her room for the night."

She wasn't about to actually tell Yukari how upset Sheena was (the ninja would have no problem carrying out her threat of ass-kicking if she did) but she was certainly going to hint that if possible, Sheena could use some company.

"Thanks." Yukari took the ribbons curiously; with the zombies and such, she'd been too busy to think of a way to "surprise" the ninja and earn their return, but she'd given the matter some thought when getting dressed earlier in the evening. Their presence had been sorely missed ( ... )

Sigh. Her roommate really was completely hopeless. What, oh, what was she going to do with that girl? Oh well. Harley would have to worry about it later. She had a lot of stuff to do tonight, and what with the whole randomly-waking-up-in-the-morning thing happening at a moment's notice, she wasn't sure how much time she had to do it all ( ... )

Okay, so the creepy computerized tour guide from hell went crazy when night fell, too. Daphne couldn't say she was surprised. Somehow, though, she doubted it was a good sign. Her roommate seemed in an ungodly hurry to leave, and on a better night, the speedster would have laughed at herself for taking note of that. As it was, she waited, steeling herself for what she might find out in the hallways before reaching for the flashlight tucked under her pillow. As she pulled it out, her hand brushed against something else, rougher-edged than the smooth cylinder of the flashlight, and her guts twisted ( ... )

Even after such a mysterious message from the radio, Sakura didn't want to move. Syaoran said that she made everything up; that Syaoran wasn't his name; that everything they went through together was a lie. And if he said that... did that mean it was true?

Her dinner was still on the table, virtually untouched. She was too preoccupied with her thoughts to feel hungry and had spent most of the day sulking around in the Sun Room and in her room. If her memories really weren't true, then what did she have left to fight for? What was she supposed to do. She was so sure that everything would be all right before, but now... everything was different.

( Skipping many many hallways from here...)

The screaming was still pouring out over the loudspeaker as Touya and Yukito moved quickly but cautiously through the hallways to Sakura's room. He really didn't like this IRIS thing. If it scared Sakura badly, he was going to pull out its circuits one at a time. On top of that, he didn't know if Sakura had a visitor today--with his own troubles worked out, he had to help Sakura now.

He stopped in front of the door, Yukito beside him, and he knocked. "Sakura?" he called, praying she hadn't gone looking for them. "It's us, can we come in?"

Just the noises from the intercom would have been enough to put Yue on edge on the way over, but the odd...flickers, or illusions, or whatever they were only made him even more wary. Something strange was clearly going on tonight, and it wasn't as obvious as it had been the night before.

Accordingly, he had taken over during the trip, releasing Touya's hand (though only after a couple of hallways) in order to move a step ahead and watch the way before them. Once they entered the relatively safer block of rooms, though, there ensued a brief, silent argument over who should be there at Sakura's door.

Yukito finally won out and, as they turned the corner to her room, fell into step beside Touya once more. "I hope she didn't already try to leave," he said quietly, glancing back the way they'd come and wondering briefly if his flashlight seemed a little dimmer than usual tonight.

Scarcely aware of what was going on around her, Sakura clenched some fabric from her pants in a mix of frustration, sadness, and confusion. Tears began squeezing out from behind her eyes. Was her whole life really a figment of her imagination? It was too painful to be locked up in here while she knew her loved one existed, but was that even him? Did he even love her back anymore? Never had she felt more lost before.

The young girl jerked suddenly and refocused at the sound of Touya's knock and voice. "Y-Yes," she responded, wiping away her tears and trying to somewhat recompose herself. If Touya and Yukito saw her like that, they would probably be troubled. They had their own things to worry about. The last thing she wanted was to thrust her problems onto them.
