Dayshift 22: Sun Room (Evening Shift)

Mar 03, 2007 16:48

It was probably a good thing Penelo listened to that weird silver haired man (she never really did get his name, did she?), because her short investigation of the Bulletin Board revealed that she wasn't alone after all. Larsa and Gabranth were here too, for whatever reason ( Read more... )

Well the tour was certainly... 'anti-climatic', to state plainly.

Larsa would not admit it out loud but he'd been expecting something more or less an oddity. Yet instead he was introduced to what appeared to be a mess hall, a cramped library and other various rooms that proved to be normal in the whole spectrum of things. Still, Larsa would have taken the time to carefully examine each one if it had not been for the Bulletin Board situated in the Sun Room.

"Penelo...?" The young Lord found it hard to believe at first, but after playing witness to Gabranth's death and finding him alive and well he was a tad bit more lenient. So after passing the board several times and writing to the blonde whenever she answered back they both agreed that the Sun Room was a good a spot as any to finally meet up. Part of the child hoped that his dear friend was there and yet an even bigger part wished it was nothing more than a trick. The thought of his friends held captive in this Institute was one that put him at unease ( ... )

Noah found disinterest in trying to read what little writing Larsa responded to, as he could not recognize the handwriting nor the name. The existence in such a thing as a bulletin board in the middle of a asylum, however, did interest him. He spent the time, instead of asking questions, in reading the scrawlings and sometimes elegant curves that dotted it, finding a rather wide variety of characters.

He wondered bemusedly which one was the blond head he had seen in his cell earlier.

Following the Lord and the nurse in a hound-like gait, he immediately recognized this room, at least, as the one where he had met Kairi and gained some ground on his situation. Unfortunately, he did not recognize the blonde girl, nor where Larsa would have met her.

A familiar face, no matter who, would be better than none at all. Supposedly.

At the sound of that voice, Penelo looked up and grinned, gripping Larsa's hands back. Finally! Someone she knew! Though she supposed she shouldn't have been too happy that Larsa, of all people, was stuck here, at least Penelo knew she had a friend in this place.

Looking up, Penelo froze at the sight of the other man. Gabranth... it really was him. She blinked, unsure of what to do. Did he remember her? Vayne was the one who had struck the killing blow, but Penelo knew that their earlier fight was the one that had weakened Gabranth and set him up for his demise.

"You weren't kidding when you said this place could bring back the dead, did you?" Penelo finally said, looking back down at Larsa. "No, I haven't seen anyone else. I'm glad you found somebody though." Better Gabranth than Vayne, Penelo thought.

"I would never kid such a thing to you, Penelo." That smile reappeared on Larsa's features, the child now taking his time with studying his friend as a whole. A whole year had passed since he'd last caught a glimpse of her, and that was enough to bring changes in everyone, not including himself of course. Al-Cid claimed that he hadn't even grown an inch during the entire affair, which left the young Lord sighing in discontent at his friend ( ... )

Hisoka wasn't upset when the intercom interupted his conversation with Ari, he wasn't furious or frusrated either, but he was disturbed. If what he came to realize was true then that stupid thought he had been entertaining from before about having died-- again-- was nothing but idiocy and, in his powerless state, was going to have one hell of a time.

That and it meant that any one of his co-workers-- Tatsumi, Watari, Tsuzuki, and all the others included-- could be next to show up in this place. Any one of them could be cloaked behind the false names this place gave them and Hisoka would never know with the growing size of the patients...

It was with this in mind the shinigami decided to move to the Sun Room, finding himself in the brightly lit room not long after bidding the smaller boy in the library farewell. None of the shinigami from Meifu ever used a library before-- well, not to read anyway-- so the chances of meeting any one of the possible new-comers there was zero to one. The Sun Room was a greater possiblity though, since ( ... )

Wesker was vaguely irritated for having missed the head doctors speech. He'd missing getting to see the man in person, but the speech posted on the bulletin board had been informative, and the second hand information on the board from other patients was good as well.

The Head Doctor was, apparently, at the facility, at least during the day. Probably during the night as well.

Wesker just shook his head in irritation and relaxed in the sun room.

Recluse didn't leave when the intercom sounded once more. He was rather relieved that the boy he had been speaking to left- He hated acting human. At least he had been able to eliminate the possibility that he was still within his own dimension. This 'Landels' was in the United States, several dimensions away. That didn't narrow things down in the slightest, but it did complicate any plans for escape. He ran through a mental list of dimensions Arachnos had explored- there weren't many that had a substantial human presence, but it was probable that this was an uncatalogued dimension.
He stared down at his hands, the skin pale and not his. Not since nearly eighty years ago, anyway. He was still physically imposing- six and a half feet tall and shoulders nearly as wide as a doorway. But it was only human strength behind the muscle now. He could still fight, but with eight of his limbs gone he was off-balanced and severely limited ( ... )

Tifa wandered into the Sun Room, picking a nice couch to sit on as she waited to her friends to arrive. She'd just seen Aerith and Yuffie five minutes ago, but there was a lot they need to get through. There were a lot of questions from everyone that needed to be answered, and she wanted to make sure everyone was on the same page.

What worried her most, though, was Vincent. Had he heard something about Cloud? It really had seemed like he had just up and vanished, from everything that she'd heard. Maybe he'd been spotted again? Or maybe he needed her help.

...Yes, she needed her friends to come soon, before she ran down each worst case scenario in her head.

And it would appear that Tifa's worst case scenario had come true.

Moving into the room as silently as he could, Sephiroth stood for a moment behind the couch, merely watching the back of her head. How simple it would be to drive his fist through it! How easy it would be to wrap his fingers around her throat and twist his hand just so to put an end to her life.

But that wouldn't be playing by the rules, would it? Whatever test this was that had been designed, he would pass it.

Leaning down to rest his elbows against the couch near her head, his direct and alien seeming gaze locked on the side of her face.

"Imagine seeing you here," he drawled.

(ooc: Coming from here. Good lord I keep screwing my post up oh my god :O)

And suddenly he froze.

For a split second Vincent knew real terror, the terror of someone that could rip him limb from limb and erase his existence with an expert twist of the wrist---

And then his gaze hardened as he remembered Landel's and what it was.

"Get away from her," he growled.

Tifa knew the sound of that voice. Before she even turned to look at him, she got that same familiar shudder down the back of her spine. But she refused to show any fear - she'd faced him head on as merely a teenager, and again not a few years ago. Tifa Lockhart was not going to cower in fear.

She turned to him, eyes practically burning with hatred. She took note that he was in the same uniform - meaning no matter what powers he had, the people running this place had somehow incapacitated him as well.

"I could say the same," she said, almost spitting the words at him. "Seems they brought you here just as easily." She barely resisted the urge to demand where Cloud was, already half convinced by Sephiroth's mere presence that he had something to do with the disappearance of her friend.

She heard Vincent then, but as grateful as she was for his arrival, she didn't turn to him just yet - there was no way she was taking her eyes off of Sephiroth.
