Xigbar was flaky nine times out of ten, and unlike the ever-professional VII, he preferred having fun in his missions- which often led to frustration for all concerned

The hope of finally venturing outside for the first time since arriving at Landel’s had quickly been squashed when Yazoo saw that some of kind of “host club” was being held out in the courtyard. Despite the fact that that was where Kadaj headed off to, he didn’t feel like taking part in something that he might possibly regret later. That left him with the indoor options

Of course, standing or sitting or even being within a mile's radius of Xigbar was asking for attention of the worst possible kind, and when the remnant flipped over one of the cards to continue his game, the sniper snatched it out of his hand and placed it where it belonged. It seemed like the name of the game was 'Double Solitaire' now.
"Name's Xigbar; didn't I see you cuddling up with the kitty before brunch?" Perhaps an unorthodox way of saying 'Hey, I think I know you,' but the Nobody was hardly someone to go with the easy or normal way. Besides, he'd need to grab as many decks of cards as he could; two should be enough. Hopefully.
Took the bait, just like Yazoo had hoped the man would. Of course, Xigbar could have done without snatching the card right out of his hand, but whatever. He wasn’t going to put up a fuss about it. Instead, he ignored the other for now, simply drawing another card and putting it in its place.
He lay down another card before finally looking up at Xigbar with a smirk. Well, if that’s how it was going to be… “Name’s Yazoo, and why do you care?” He regarded Xigbar with a cool gaze, tilting his head slightly, adding, “Not getting jealous are we?” He went back to his game with another small smirk.
"Jealous? As if. Shouldn't that be you? He only went to you after I dumped him. But hey, if you want some cuddling, I'm man enough for two." He snickered at that; while he didn't have a heart, he could at least find a bit of amusement at imagining the silver-haired one as sloppy seconds. And dumping the kitten had tickled his funny bone, in the bargain.
"Two goes on the black three, by the way."
Yeah, Yazoo was going to be in for a wild ride. The only thing that could be said about time with Xigbar was that the only consistent description was 'not boring.'
All in all, Jack didn't feel like he was having too bad a day. He'd met some people, maybe got a couple of them to think, and he was feeling a little bit drowsy. Which wasn't a surprise to him.
He wandered into the Game Room, which was relatively empty. Surprising, considering how many teenagers were running around. Oh well, didn't bother him any. He figured if someone wanted to talk to him, they'd come and talk to him.
He grabbed a deck of cards and shuffled them as he sat back in a chair, content to relax a bit while he had the chance.
He did hope someone came by to say hello. He liked people.
When faced with the sort of absurd inevitability that Landels provided, Simon felt there was little he could do. There were questions to ask, information to dig out, but all in all, a certain amount of helplessness had to be accepted. River was safe. During the day, everything was controlled. He did not need to be constantly on guard. For this reason, Simon actually chose the Game Room.
Mostly, he was curious as to what would be offered. Walking into the room, a cursory glance around picked out Jack almost immediately--there wasn't many patients here, yet-- and Simon walked over to him.
"Hello again," he greeted, his smile polite. Simon's earlier irritation had been quickly over, and disappeared for good during brunch. Taking note of the cards in Jack's hands, he asked, "Planning on a rousing game of Solitaire?"
"Didn't have anything particular in mind, actually," Jack said, grinning. "Have a seat. You a card playing man? We could have ourselves a little game. Doesn't hurt to have a little fun now and then. Especially for those of us who don't get much of a chance."
The look that Jack gave Simon clearly said that he hadn't had a chance for fun in some time. And then it was gone, again, and Jack's bright smile was back in place.
"Thanks." Given permission, as it would have been rude to intrude otherwise, Simon took a seat. "No, I suppose it doesn't, or it wouldn't be fun, would it?" Unless one was a masochist.
Jack's look piqued Simon's interest, but he could empathize. "Goodness, I haven't played cards in--" He shook his head, laughing a little. "I can't even remember." He had not had fun, if he was perfectly honest, in a very long time. His smile softened, almost disappeared, when Jack asked after River. It was good of him to care, but for a moment, Simon doubted himself--what was he doing here when he should have been looking for River? Even if she was probably fine in the controlled day atmosphere.
"No," he admitted, now frowning, his eyes pulling like magnets to the door. "It makes me negligent, to be here."
