Okay, so it looked like there was no point in trying to get through a TV. It figured. It was either because their abilities were sealed off or the world inside the TV simply didn't exist here. It wouldn't have made much sense for the Head Doctor to bring them there when they had such an easy method of escaping/hiding out anyway. Yousuke told

At least he was actually going this time, unlike other days when he'd been left in his room by the bastards due to "medical" reasons. Still, this was his second time in the town, which meant the novelty had worn off and the frustrating sensation of being just as trapped in a new environment was slowly sinking in. Worse still, it was much harder to keep an eye on his allies and enemies here than it was at the Institute; at least a claustrophobic setting meant that none of his targets could get away from him ( ... )

Speaking of which, hadn't he agreed to meet one of the people who had saved the three of them last night here? Well, there was no point in wondering off now. Trading in his coupons for lunch (polished off rather quickly; easing his concern had clearly eased the block in his stomach) he spent the rest of the afternoon in the restaurant. Along with occasional checks at the grocer's, of course- after all, Trunks could have just missed that first message ( ... )

In theory, an establishment like this should have been something Haseo had been in before- it wasn't all that unusual from the sort of thing he may have found not far from where he worked, even if the food was probably a little different, but... as far as he could remember, he definitely had not. This was way too cheap-plastic and bad lighting. Like some sort of unspoken rule bound him to it, he paused yet again the moment he entered the building, frowning and looking around with his head lowered as if he expected ninjas to suddenly emerge from under the tables and engage him in battle. ... Clearly he needed more sleep or something ( ... )

He nodded to the other man, determined not to look like he found the situation awkward. If this was all business, then he was all business. The other boy was still relatively new to this place. He might be able to offer information he wasn't aware of yet.
For the moment, he simply remained at Haseo's side and said nothing.

"That's me. I'm sorry, I never got your name." Oh. Make that names. For a moment he blinked uncertainly at the other boy. He'd been there too last night, right? Well, two was just as good as one, although Kibitoshin couldn’t help but feel a little mean for not noticing him straight off. He didn't want to make him feel awkward or anything... in the end he settled on smiling pleasantly and nodding back at.
Taking a seat again, he wrung his hands embarrassedly on the table top. "Um... before anything, I just wanted to say that I'm really grateful for you and your friends helping us out. I kind of ended up getting in over my head and, well..." He gave a sheepish laugh and rubbed the back of his neck. "You saw how well that turned out."

And that was just the tip of the iceberg. As if to make matters worse, a few trips to the bulletin had revealed that Kristoph Gavin was among the patients being held here. Kristoph Gavin! Prosecutor Gavin hadn't been joking when he'd said there were untrustworthy people here. Because if there was one convicted criminal here, there were bound to be others, right? It would have been kind of nice if the prosecutor had cued him in on Gavin's presence before Apollo had given himself away on the board, though ( ... )

"Yeah, go ahead," The bounty hunter replied. Smirking at the man, he added, "I don't bite."

Besides, it wasn't like he hadn't talked to gangsters before. A man with some tattoos on his face shouldn't be too difficult, right?
"So, um..." Apollo began unwrapping his burger as he fished for something to talk about. Starting simple was likely best. "Did you come from Landel's Institute for the day, too?"

He thanked the cashier as a tray was handed to him and turned to find a place to sit down, nearly running into Mitsuru as he did so. "Oops!" His soda was grabbed quickly before it could spill all over everything, and he gave her an embarrassed smile. "Hey, sorry about that. Guess you're next in line. I'll just... get out of your way here..." Balancing the tray carefully, he edged around her and made his way towards the nearest empty table.

He set his burger down, chewing and swallowing the current mouthful. "Uh, yeah! I mean no! Go right ahead." Yousuke went so far as to dab his mouth off with a napkin after he said this. No way did he want to look like a complete slob to a stranger.
She had to be a patient. Most of the people roaming around town right now were. They stood out like a sore thumb. He took the napkin to his hands before holding one out to her. "Hanamura Yousuke. You're... visiting today too, right?"

The place looked the same as Sai last remembered it, and he wasted no time in stepping right up to the counter and handing the cashier his coupon. "There are two others with me," he informed him, although it wasn't really necessary. It wasn't as though they had to reserve a table. "Is it possible for me to get a small salad instead of fries?"
Though the man looked a bit exasperated at the request, he allowed for the exchange anyway. Sai offered a smile in thanks but it went a bit unappreciated.
There appeared to be several other patients using this time to get in a quick meal before they were loaded onto the buses. He stayed to the side of the register after he'd made his order, allowing the other two room to step up and keeping an eye on Shikamaru at the same time.

Not knowing the status or location of the other Leaf-nin did make him uncomfortable, though, especially if things got dangerous. There was no point in bringing up the matter again, though...it sounded like Kakashi had some ideas, so they'd discuss it in a few minutes.
