Day 42: Magus Park [evening]

Jul 12, 2009 13:10

The temperature was starting to cool down, but that was okay with Akihiko. It wasn't that much different from winter evenings back home. He was feeling better, having been outside most of the day, but still. That niggling stress from the previous few days was still getting to him. He sighed, looking up at the darkening sky and thinking about it all ( Read more... )

Until now, Depth Charge supposed he hadn't really thought about the logistics of changing from robot to human. All he'd noticed was that it was a frustrating downgrade. "You took the words right out of my mouth," Akihiko nodded. "You're leaning a little too far to the right with your right hooks, too. I think if you bring that in a little bit, it'll help you keep on-balance. You want to keep your torso centered while you move like that. I think, though, once you've got the hang of that, you'll be pretty good, and we can move on to more defensive stuff. But in my honest opinion, the best defense is a good offense." He grinned.

"Can't argue with you there, coach." Depth Charge gave a slight smirk and stretched his arms out in front of him, cracking his knuckles demonstratively. "Nothing like a fist to the face to drive the point home."

Bravado aside, maybe Akihiko was on to something. If anything happened and he could actually defend himself beyond the basics... well, that was a way off, and he'd promised himself he wasn't going to be so paranoid anymore. Still, maybe he would find some time in his oh-so-busy schedule to fit another lesson in, if only for the practise.

After all. How many skills were there to learn that involved punching the slag out of each other?
