Day 22: Shift 3, Library

Feb 27, 2007 10:44

Saïx had been known to keep to himself, limiting his interaction with even his own peers in the Organization to the Superior as much as possible. Of course, he gladly took up the task of chasing a few, random traitors here and there, but solitude and the company of those whom could be considered competent was something Number VII almost took ( Read more... )

Glad to hear that he was not going to be subjected to any visitors (who would it have been, anyway?), it wasn't difficult for Roy to decide where he wanted to go, given a choice. The library would be quiet, and there was something very relaxing about being surrounded by books. He also liked the smell ( ... )

Lust had a point. It wasn't as if Hughes could track all of his actions, and withholding the truth was different from lying. "The way I heard it, you tried to kill him first." Roy knew Hughes wasn't the sort to randomly throw his knives at pretty lady's foreheads. "I'm not sure if that's even what it's about. He doesn't tend to like homunculi in general." Which was reasonable, Roy thought. The man's protectiveness was for a whole other set of reasons that Roy wasn't about to divulge. He realized that Lust would probably think little of their relationship, but the less people that knew, the less likely the chance of the news spreading.

"There's truth enough to that. It's hard for me to compare my skills to others," he said with a shrug. There was only one way to find out, but it wasn't as if it was an option.

"My master wanted him dead." Lust shrugged. "He knew too much, asked too many questions." The woman scoffed, her distaste for the woman that had raised her clear. "Couldn't have had anyone meddling in her grand plans, of course. Anyone who posed a threat to her careful planning was done away with. Even us, her loyal servants."

Lust shifted again, trying to find a comfortable position. Couldn't they invest in some furniture that wasn't torture to sit upon?

"We homunculi are little different than humans. But you know that well now, don't you?" The words weren't a jibe. If anything, they were almost kind.

"I suppose I'll simply have to wonder." Lust leaned forward, as best as she could with her torso swathed in bandages. "Though I assure you, in my dreams, you're unparalleled."
