Night 41: Main Hallway, 1-Center

[from here]As she neared the big doors to the Sun Room, Anise's pace slowed to a stop. This part of the hall was eerily quiet. Could she really be the first one there? It was a good thing, since it meant she had probably gotten there well before that Wonka guy, but it also made her a little nervous. If there were monsters lurking around, she was ( Read more... )

Suzaku unconsciously relaxed a little at the familiar teasing tone, feeling slightly more at ease. He wasn't as bothered by the thought of camaraderie as he had been before; at this point he thought they could genuinely be called partners. Lelouch's honesty, his humanity, were still painfully foreign, but Suzaku could rest in the knowledge that they had some kind of understanding. He carefully avoided the thought that to talk so easily with his old friend was essentially the same as treating him as -- an old friend. The professional distance a knight should usually keep from his liege didn't allow for the sorts of conversations they had on the bulletin, or probably even for him to take such an interest in Lelouch's eating habits. That also didn't fit with the model he had adopted of taking orders from someone he didn't particularly like. But nothing about him and Lelouch ever fit into any predetermined schematic, so it was alright. It was natural for them to work comfortably together ( ... )

Sho did not fail to notice that the population count for the patients in the immediate quadrant was starting to thin out. Stopping for a second, he fished his flashlight out of the sheet-turned-bag, clicking the light on now that he wouldn't be able to depend on the megalux of others. Now set against the dark, he continued on.

West 30 yards. Rotate 90 degrees clockwise. North 2 meters. Open doors. North until desired location is achieved.

These hallways really did go on forever. And it was worryingly quiet too. Kibitoshin waved his torch anxiously from corner to corner, searching for some kind of invisible phantom waiting to pounce at a moment's notice. To his surprise however, the beam found something rather more interesting- a door that looked a whole lot like an exit! Kibitoshin made for it like a frog for a lilly-pad. Saved!

...no one here. Of course. Like she was stupid enough to go upstairs, though.

Forward, forward. This place was getting more irritating by the second!

Apollo slowed his pace down a little bit once he realized there were two doors up ahead. One room was wide open, but after casting his light in there long enough to get a glimpse of what appeared to be chairs and tables, he was fairly certain that wasn't the front reception area.

The other door looked like it might be a bit more promising, though. At the very least, it was worth checking out. If he didn't find anything, he'd move on, or maybe pull some patients aside so he could question them. In the back of his mind, though, he knew he probably wouldn't get the chance to walk around so freely during the day. It was probably best if he took advantage of the time given to him while he could.

Watch me find a pay phone or something, he silently grumbled. That would be such a slap in the face for a guy who didn't have his wallet on him.
