Night 18: Hallway just outside of F Block

[ From hereIt didn't take long for Greed to hear the sounds of a commotion going on around the corner, even with his muffled senses, though he wasn't stupid enough to go rushing into anything, especially with only one person on his side whose fighting skills were unknown even if his mental capabilities had proved to be quite useful ( Read more... )

At first Han had wandered down the long and desolated hallway in wonder and confusion, but now he was just pissed off. This disembodied voice had spoken again, and this whole surreal thing was really starting to creep him out. Hallucinations didn't happen like this; he wanted some damn answers, and he wanted them now.

"HEY!!" His shout echoed through the corridor as if he was all that existed, but he'd heard that voice twice now, and somebody had to be listening.

"HEEEEEYYYY!!" Han yelled again, waving his arms desperately as he finally rounded a corner. In the distance he heard noise, and he could almost make out two figures nearby. "Can someone tell me what's goin' on here?!"

Greed whirled around at the sudden sound, blinking in the direction of the overtly loud voice. The hell--?! Had the battle come around the corner, and---

The additions to the first call clarified things a little, and Greed smirked wryly at the realization that he'd come across yet another face whose owner didn't have a clue as to why they were in this asylum-turned-prison. Greed slowly turned to the window, rapping on it with the knuckles of his half-shielded hand as he tested the material it was made from.

"Quiet down!" He called in a hypocritically loud voice, wondering if Schuldig would tell him if this guy was a fighter, though the homunculus was already guessing he was. Only people who could hold their own in a fight felt the freedom to be so obvious. He looked back towards the man, noting that he was in the same stupid attire as anyone else. He grinned a sharp-toothed grin and arched an eyebrow

"Hey..." He nodded at the newcomer as he directed his words towards Schuldig. "He useful?"

"Mm." The sound Schuldig made was noncommital, largely because he was mentally endeavoring to be everywhere at once. Somewhere down the hall, there was pain and angst and fear and rage and in such delicious amounts...he could have lost himself in it, and probably would have, if it hadn't been for the interruption of the man down the hall combined with the disconcerting realization that he was only picking up the general emotional tone from the fight rather than specific thoughts. Granted, hearing thoughts at a distance became progressively more difficult, but the fight wasn't that far off; even given the fact that it was obviously winding down, he should have been able to pick out at least some telling details.

He didn't like this. The more he tried to stretch himself to his usual limits, the more he found that he couldn't reach them. His powers hadn't been neutralized, but somehow they'd been reduced ( ... )

"Hey!" Han interrupted, jaw set squarely as he realized just who the two were talking about. Indignant hand on hip and fingers just itching for the missing blaster, he turned to the skinny one and cocked his head angrily.

"Who's askin', kid?" Han demanded, eyes narrowed and glare pointed for a split second before rounding on his heel to start on the other guy. "And what the hell is going on?!" He was confused and pissed off, and that was not a good combination at the moment.

Though the one kid seemed to know way too damn much about him, the shaky foundation of Han's hallucination theory was rocked to the core if only because never in his life had he had an imagination this good.

[Coming from Here presumably with a silent Cloud in tow...]

Whoever was behind the comm system tonight was in a nasty mood. And a chatty one. It seemed though that there were a lot of new prisoners, chaos everywhere.

Speaking of new people, it seemed the two she'd seen earlier were sizing up a third man, someone else new. Well, at least they were going for strenght in numbers. She swung her light around enough to get a lok at the other man's features before flicking the beam back to the hallway.

There was a new sound bouncing down the hallway, it sounded like... a very low tech combustion engine being operated inside.

The truck eventually stopped, but the motion sickness remained -- as it always did. He allowed the two leaders (?) to go out in front before he followed after with another soldier. His head was still disoriented from riding in the truck, but at least he didn't throw up into his helmet or anywhere (or on anyone). One should be happy for small miracles, he supposed ( ... )

CRACK

Her head snapped up and around, that was definately coming from further down the hall.

Confined chemical explosion, combined with a low sonic boom.... A slug thrower, simple, easy to manufacture on a low tech scale and very nasty. Kinetic weapons like that laughed at personal shields - not that she had any - but were nullified by decent armor - and not that she had any of that either.

There were several more cracking shots, one sounded different, deeper. That one came from further down the hallway and now that she was further out, she could hear other voices faintly.

"Well, piya tura seems that there's a fuss about tonight," Chusa said to her blond shadow, he was a quiet fellow, but he at least kept his light in grip and pointed the correct ways.

Her grip shifted on her metal pole instinctively, she held it low and forward, ready to block or strike. At the end of the light beams were faintly seen open doors, where the multiple shots had come from.

He instinctively took a step back from the sudden noise. It didn't sound like something that he should tangle with. He couldn't even figure out where he had placed his gun -- as it seemed like it was not on his person on this moment, which he discovered as soon as he started looking for it. The weapon might have been left at the truck, but he really didn't want to turn his back at whatever was down the way.

Sure, the others could probably handle whatever it was (better than he ever could), but it still was a little disconcerting to look away when you knew something bad was there. Of course, he looked to the group of three and his own companion for what they should do. Should they investigate the noise or move on to another area -- away from whatever was down there ( ... )
