Nightshift 41: West Wing South Hall 2-B

[from here]

Now that he'd made his daring escape, Spider began considering important questions. Questions like, "where the fuck am I?" "where the fuck are my drugs?" and "did I accidentally smear shit all over myself instead of blood?" The third question would require a second opinion, and the second question depended wholly on figuring out the ( Read more... )

[ From here.]Close encounters of the crazy kind averted, Scourge treked down the long hallway towards the chemical rooms. On the map he'd managed to find, someone had marked the area on the area to his left as "disciplinary therapy", a phrase that made the tracker walk even faster. He didn't understand most human customs, but being locked in small rooms with people intending to make you "see sense"...that he was intimately familiar with. And without Cyclonus to make sure he survived the experience he didn't factor his chances too highly ( ... )

The hallway was empty, which was just fine by Schuldig; it meant that he was well ahead of the rest of the patient body, even those dedicated individuals who made rescue runs (who had to wait a hell of a lot longer than he did to coordinate, thanks to the size of their group - he'd never thought it was a good idea) and the friends of the other people who'd been taken. He took some grim satisfaction in that.

The door to the hallway outside the experimentation rooms was already hanging open, which just meant that aside from skidding a bit as he turned the corner(even his shoes couldn't find much purchase on slick institutional floors), he didn't even have to slacken his stride as he headed through.

Tyki discovered there were only two choices here; take the stairs back to the first floor or take the hallway to his right. With a shrug he opted for the latter, not really seeing why he should take the stairs back down after the trouble of climbing it.

There was a door at the end of this hallway, but it looked like somebody already got here first. With the aid of his flashlight he could easily see the lock had been broken open by force; he had seen (and caused) plenty of broken locks to recognize one. Not that the Noah was going to complain; it was clearly saving him the trouble of breaking things down. He just hoped the guy who got here for him wouldn't keep the interesting stuff for himself.

Any excuse to put off talking about anything significant and not answer the questions Dean still surely had was fine with Sam. The bruises and whatnot were easy to explain away, but if Dean asked about what the hell happened to his hands...

You spent the night digging my grave.

God, that sounded messed up, even by their standards.

The door up ahead had been busted down for them. Broken doors were never a good sign usually, but here--it probably only meant someone had gotten there ahead of them.

Sam pushed it open cautiously, careful to stay out of range in case something behind there decided to slam it back in his face.

Locked door, broken door, locked door, broken door. Well, crap again. HK hadn't mentioned anything about locked doors, and that was all this hallway seemed to be made of. Sure, a couple of them had been bashed open, but he was pretty sure if they were bashed open that had to mean they were originally locked. Right?

Convinced that his line of thought was at least semi-coherent, he turned and walked back out into the hall.
