There was no sign of anyone else here. Maybe she was early - she had left her room immediately, after all. The rest of the team should be here soon.
Soma took up position on the other side of the hallway so she faced the F-blocks and waited.
A few strides had brought Taura to the mouth of the larger hallway and the door to the women's bathroom. She wasn't quite sure why they were meeting here, but here she was. Perhaps it was just convenience, if Himura and Kamiya were both women's names -- she wasn't exactly sure.
Another woman was standing sentry over the ends of the hallway. Taura transferred her flashlight to her left hand and walked over next to her, mirroring her position.
She was hesitant to break the silence, though, and merely nodded a greeting.

Unless she gets it back some night for Special Counseling...
"I could teach you some more advanced moves," Hokuto offered. "I heard plans about someone setting up martial-arts classes, but nothing since then; whenever it does happen, I want to help out."
Reply
"I don't know about actual classes, but I did attend the Boxing Club's first meeting two nights ago. We didn't get very far, but I believe there's another meeting tomorrow night. You could come with me, if you like."

"Oh, they started already? That's great! I must have missed the announcement." She had been busy... there also wasn't much point to being here if she wasn't making friends, after all.

Meche was relieved to find light and voices in the women's block hallway; all that wandering around in the darkness had started to feel uncomfortably familiar. She didn't see or hear Senna, and just like last night, she had no idea who else she was supposed to be looking for. These A&C people could use a little more administrative efficiency, Meche reflected wryly--good thing she was here to help.
Well, Senna had said "girls," so the two unfamiliar young women over there were a pretty good bet as a starting point. Meche clicked her way towards them.
"Excuse me, but you two wouldn't happen to be with Senna's Arts and Crafts team, would you? I'm Mercedes Colomar," she said.

The sound of heels (heels?) clicking in the distance heralded the arrival of another woman, this one a little older than she was. Soma nodded at her question; apparently this was the other stranger on the team tonight.
"Yes, we are," she said promptly. "I'm Soma Peries. It's nice to meet you, Ms. Colomar."

"Senna should be here soon... if we get tired of waiting, I know where her room is," she added with a slightly wicked grin. Senna apparently had an actual rank now, but that didn't mean they had to afford her much dignity.

On closer inspection, both of her new partners looked like they were in their late teens or so--which would make them a couple of years older than Senna (maybe; it depended on how time worked for reapers where she was from) and a good decade younger than Meche herself. Sometimes you really felt your age in here, she reflected. Good thing she was in pretty good shape.
"Do you know anything about tonight's mission?" she asked, more to start conversation than to get any actual information. Senna would probably explain the whole thing in a few minutes anyway.

...okay, that was a leftover habit from when every new place she went to had shopping centers she could buy things at, but it was still a mission objective she liked.

But a sightseeing trip seemed like an unusual mission, even compared to last night's flower-picking. Meche could understand why the A&C leaders might want a map of the area, but she wasn't sure how useful a ruined town would really be in helping anyone get out of there. It certainly sounded like Landel could still get to the patients out there.
"Senna can probably tell us a little more about this, but why is Vice-Captain Hinamori interested in the town? Is there a reason to think it might be connected to Landel's somehow?" she asked.

She tilted her head slightly, furrowing her eyebrows in thought. "The vice-captain said the flag and the decontamination station didn't match with the rest of the schoolhouse. I don't know about the flag, but the station definitely seemed out of place. Maybe we'll find something similar in the rest of the town if we look closely."

It didn't strike her as all that farfetched, but really, she'd have to see for herself.
...I'm the expert on the 20th century here, aren't I?

"A decontamination station, though..." She shook her head. "That definitely doesn't sound like any school I've ever seen. Maybe in a modern high school with a really good chemistry lab, but...well, the vice-captain's right. That definitely sounds out of place to me, especially if it's old enough to be called a 'schoolhouse.'"
Why would a school need a decontamination station, anyway? Some kind of nursing training program? But why would a school with such expensive equipment be in ruins?

...But of course that wasn't the case. Of course, every other single person was on time. Senna jogged to the group, swallowing a grimace, and instead opting for her normal smile. "Hey, guys, looks like you're all here."
...Maybe they wouldn't mention anything. Maybe.
Decked out in Shinigami wear, and complete with Renji's sword at her waist, Senna looked the part, but for the hundredth time, the girl wondered uneasily why she was in charge again in this place. Those thoughts were her own however, and Senna continued brightly, "I guess we're ready to head off, then!" A brief pause, and then she went on a little more seriously, "I'd be happy to answer any thing you guys wanna ask, but in exchange, wanna tell me what kind of fighting you guys are used to and any weapons you've picked up? It'll make things a lot easier in the long run."

She trailed off as Senna appeared; while she couldn't help noticing the other girl was late, she didn't mention it. Senna was the leader tonight, after all.
"Good evening, Senna," she said simply. As she had already answered the shinigami's question the previous night, she waited for the others to respond.
