Night 41: F11-20 Hallway

[F15]

As usual, the doctor's announcement was vague and led her nowhere as far as figuring out what his intentions were went, but definitely foreboding. There was no way to tell what exactly he had in mind when he was cutting himself off like that among all the static, which was frustrating, but ... she supposed sooner or later, they would all see ( Read more... )

Despite the pain she was in, thankfully reduced to a dull throbbing by the oxycodone, as long as Beatrix didn't have to fight any monsters, or snakes, she'd be okay. Still, she strapped her katana to her back, thankful her primary sword arm hadn't been severely injured, unlike her other, and added the pairing blade into her hair.

She hoped HK-47 wouldn't find some reason to miss a third night in a row.

There, night had finally fallen, bringing with it an evening better suited to a doctor and not a general. Celes nodded once at Momo and stepped into the hall.

"Good hunting tonight, my Lady." Celes inclined her head and started down the hall. Good hunting, indeed, she thought and started off to the men's blocks.

Momo was a bit slower to leave the room than Celes was; the shinigami nodding in response to the well wishes. Now that it was night, she was having a bit of trouble shaking the odd feeling of Hitsugaya's reiatsu. She knew she was imagining it - she had to be - but it was slightly distracting.

Get the flag to Fowl. Then get moving before you get him and his team killed.

Tucking the folded flag under her left arm, Momo set out.

Fourteen or fifteen, wasn't it? Yousuke paused between them, noticing that one was ajar. Would that be like Naoto? Leaving the door partially open to let her less clever teammates know where she was? (Well, maybe Kanji. Yousuke could have remembered it if Things hadn't happened, he was pretty sure.) He knocked on the wall next to the door anyway.

"That you, Naoto?" It wouldn't do to walk into a girl's room without checking first anyway. He might end up having something thrown at him.

Naoto glanced up at the knock, but she didn't bother getting up from where she was sitting. She may have not have seen him here yet, but she recognized that voice for certain.

"Yes, it is," she confirmed in reply. "Come in; it shouldn't be long before Tatsumi-kun arrives."

Or so she hoped.

The door was opened slowly as Yousuke peered in. He had to blink for a moment, because he wasn't quite expecting the appearance of the girl on the other side. It should have been obvious, seeing as their clothes were taken from them when they were brought here, but it hadn't clicked with everything else that was going on.

So Naoto did have breasts. Huh.

He made a desperate attempt to look anywhere else, turning around to close the door behind him. "S-should I leave it open a bit for him too?"

"If you would," Naoto replied, giving him a bit of an odd look in return. That better not have been over what she thought it may have ... Well, so long as he kept any commentary to himself. "Aside from him, I'm expecting someone else to come by briefly to drop a radio off. I assume it won't take any longer than a short minute or so."

She made a vague gesture with a hand, welcoming Yousuke to sit wherever he wanted to-- or continue to stand, if that's what he wished to do. It didn't matter to her. "I didn't see you respond on the bulletin, so I'm not sure whether you're aware, but Adachi-san is here as well. I'm uncertain if he will be coming, but just in case..." Naoto trailed off to catch any reaction Yousuke might have. "... As he is from Inaba, I didn't think it would do him any good to leave him out of anything."

After the nurses had collected her tray, Sakura was surprised to hear her radio go off so suddenly. She found it odd how the doctor's voice was able to shift from calm and innocent to dark and evil within a matter of seconds. "One mystery after another..." she thought to herself.

She picked up her flashlight and peered out the door of F19. The beam coming from her flashlight shook slightly as she peered around, and she held onto the door to keep her standing. Yue and Touya would be here soon... hopefully. She didn't even want to think about facing monsters alone.

By following Yue, Touya was able to get a good look at the way to the female patient block. He tried to pay close attention to possible threats and which turns were which, but his mind was still trying to catch up with the idea of Sakura being there.

He had just gotten here himself, what was he supposed to say to her to assure her that he'd do everything he could? No doubt Yue had already told her that he was still recovering from the transfer, so she'd be worrying about him, obviously. He didn't want her to worry. He wanted to her to focus on taking care of herself.

Once the two of them had turned down the hallway, Touya caught sight of the light coming from the door. "Guess that's her room?" he said, turning to Yue for confirmation.

Since there was only one block of rooms for the female patients, Yue had assumed that it would be easy to find Sakura - dulled his senses might be in this place, she was still Sakura and he knew he could recognize her aura anywhere. (He just...had to be a little closer now.)

As they'd entered the block the sense of her presence grew stronger, drawing him like iron to a magnet. At the same time, though, his worries and apprehensions grew; had his wings still been present the feathers would have been ruffled with tense agitation. He nodded once in curt response to Touya, eyes fixed on the patch of light. "That way," he confirmed, and didn't quite hurry as he headed in her direction.

Although she didn't recognize who they were offhand, Sakura sensed Yue and Touya as they approached and turned the flashlight toward the boys. "Who's there?" Her heart pounded as the beam met the boys' faces, and she stood in place for a moment, still clinging onto the door as their presence sunk in.

"O-Onii-chan..." Sakura stammered, barely audible. Overcome with joy, shock, worry, and relief all at once, she was unable to say anymore. Slowly letting go of the door, she began to walk towards Touya. The beam of light bounced around as her hands shook, but she never let it point out of range of their faces. About halfway to them, Sakura abandoned walking and broke out into a run. "Onii-chan!" she called, coming in for a hug.
