Jiraiya had been right about the bulletin, at least. Yousuke guessed that meant he'd probably have to take some of the other things he'd said a bit more seriously as well. Like the monsters at night

The nurse kept discouraging Chihaya's questions and only seemed interested in where he'd like to sit. Indoors or outdoors. Chihaya chose the latter and smiled, watching her leave. Although she still lingered, watching him.
For a few moments he sat and looked at the flowers before deciding that he'd leave a message on the bulletin board her saw, regardless of whether or not the nurse wished to observe.
With his note tacked in place, he returned to the flowers, burying his fingertips in the soil.
When his nurse asked where he wanted to stay for the shift, Adachi's first choice was outside, and he was kind of surprised the bitch actually let him go. With as much trouble as he'd given her, he'd expect her to pick something for him. That was how women were, wasn't it? At least he could try to use it to his advantage. If he was outside, maybe he could look around and try to figure out what was going on.
She left him with a rather pointed comment about playing nice, and he glared at her back as she left before wandering around. So much for outside telling him where he was and what was going on. It wasn't like he could see much of anything. Except...
The Junes kid, wasn't it? Hanamura was the last name, if he remembered right. Not like the name mattered, just the face. He was definitely one of the brats who was always getting in his way. So what the fuck was he doing here? Might as well find out. The detective readied his act again, then headed over.
Yousuke froze, afraid for a moment to turn and face the owner. That man belonged in a real mental institute, not... whatever this was. (Partner, why'd you have to be gone now?) Finally, he scowled over his shoulder. "What are you doing here?"
This was bad. His fists clenched at his side. They were both unarmed, weren't they? Could he take him on his own? ...Sure. Sure he could, without Ameno-Sagiri to back him up. This wasn't the TV world, and Adachi wasn't that tough.
Well, wasn't he in an unpleasant mood. Not that the kid and his friends had ever really been around Adachi without demanding something or another. "You got me. This sure isn't Inaba Municipal." Yes, it was stating the obvious, but he had a tendency to do that around the brats. Before, it was just to throw them off the trail, now it was out of habit.
"One of those nurses just started dragging me around, calling me by some weird name. It's all pretty fishy, if you ask me, but I've got no clue what's going on." Adachi shrugged, then gave the kid a strange look. He seemed almost...defensive. "What about you?"
Was this guy serious? Did he think he could just walk up to him with that old act and expect not to get slugged? Yousuke turned around completely now, hands crossed over his chest and looking particularly vicious. "Don't give me that crap."
Why did who or whatever had brought them here have to drag him along as well? "It just figures we'd be stuck with you, you murdering bastard. Don't go pressing your luck when you don't have your little shadow friends to help you out, or I'll find something to shove you into without any escape route."
The end of lunch seemed to take far too long in Brainiac 5's mind. Luxord's attention had been bad enough to begin with, but at least he'd been able to keep a good grip on his reactions

With the nurses remaining constantly vigilant, it made it all the more difficult for Ciel to steal away and explore, thus leaving him loitering around trying to keep himself occupied. His desire to actually socialize with most of the patients was rather low, but he supposed it was still his only window to more information about the institution and his captors
( ... )
Someone was watching him. It wasn't exactly an unusual feeling; Brainiac 5 was used to attracting attention due to his intellect and status with the Legion, but considering both his appearance now and his experiences in the last few days, he didn't expect the attention to mean anything beneficial.
He glanced up, half wondering if his morbid prediction had come true and he'd find himself alone with the red-haired psychopath again, but it turned out to be a boy several years younger than himself watching him with a strangely calculating look.
"Is there something I can help you with?" he asked caustically, glaring back at the boy.
The other boy's tone didn't escape Ciel's notice, already triggering his own ire in response, especially after his entire morning had done well to successfully place him in a bad mood. It wasn't enough that Sebastian was missing and the food here was terrible as well as whatever it was they attempted to pass off as a decent accommodation. Nothing was even remotely up to par with what he had in his London estate.
What got to him the most, though, was the lack of privacy, all eyes on him constantly and making it all the more difficult for him to investigate. He couldn't take the nurses constantly fawning over him and referring to him with false terms of endearment like "sweetie." It was really starting to get on his nerves

Kaworu trailed after his nurse placidly, but found himself distracted by all of the Lilim as they walked. The hum of voices and footsteps was otherworldly, and as reassuring as it was upsetting. The Third Impact had not been realized. It couldn't, after all. Not while he still existed. Everything reminded him that his dying wish hadn't been granted, and he didn't understand why. He had trusted Shinji, and still did
( ... )
Shinichi had been so traumatized by his time in the shower that it was no wonder he hadn't really wanted to mingle during lunch. He'd fucked up last night, even worse than he'd originally thought. He'd blown his cover right out of the water, and it was only a matter of time before Kuroba started asking questions. Shinichi would be surprised if he didn't
( ... )
Kaworu turned to face the approaching pair, remaining where he was as they neared him. With reluctance he dismissed his silent questions, which was just as well. He did not like any of the answers he had found in his mind.
He smiled airily at the one who was left with him even as he noted the wheelchair and other obvious injuries. It was clear he was unhappy, but Kaworu did not think that the tenseness in the Lilim's face could be completely blamed on his physical pain. Kaworu considered for a moment what nuances made him believe this so, but stopped his thoughts prematurely, lest the silence between them grow heavy.
"Ah," he started, exhaling softly. He glanced around himself and found a bench to settle down on so they would be level. His shoulders fell into a familiar slouch. "Hello, Jimmy-kun. I am sorry that you are hurt," he added in his breathy voice, though he wasn't offering his condolences solely for the lacerations and broken bones.
"Shinichi," he corrected automatically. "My name's Kudou Shinichi. 'Jimmy' is just what they call me here. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume you're not 'Addison,' either." Wasn't that a girl's name anyway? The detective gave the other boy a grin. "Thanks for the sentiment, though."
He turned around as well as the bandages would allow and, seeing that the nurse wasn't watching him anymore, started to ease out of the wheelchair. His legs were getting cramped.
Tamaki was still trying to recover from the day he'd had, even after lunch. His cheek was bruised, but the swelling had gone down and at least it wasn't permanent! He had enough scars. More than enough, really!
It was just this place. It got into people and it made them act differently. They lashed out and even Tamaki and his own friends weren't immune.
But he had things he needed to take care of. 1) Work out a Host Club meeting. 2) Figure out what to do about the clinic now that he had been moved to a new room. These were really the kinds of things Kyouya was best at. Tamaki wasn't a planner. But he tried his best. He always did.
Taking a seat on a bench in the courtyard - oh, how many things had happened to him here! - Tamaki pulled out his journal and opened it on his lap.
There seemed to be a lot young people around, all in identical pyjamas! It still made Chihaya feel a little better to see the bright yellow face.
However, there was one boy that suddenly caught his attention. he was quite beautiful and he had lovely blond hair.
After what Chihaya had done, he could really assume that the boy was an angel, but he looked friendly enough, though a little bruised and sad. At worst, Chihaya would simply be making a new friend.
He stood up and wiped the dirt from his hand before going to the bench and smiling.
Tamaki looked up from his notebook - having gotten nothing done other than a handful of doodles - and smiled brightly as he was approached.
"Of course!" he said, beaming despite his freshly-bruised cheek. Oh, how lucky he was! A lovely...er...well, honestly, Tamaki wasn't entirely sure. Which happened a lot around here. "Please, sit down! It would be an honor and a pleasure to share your company!"
Well, either way, there was no reason to shirk his Hosting duties!
"Oh! R-really?" he asked, blushing a little. Nobody had ever been so enthusiastic about having Chihaya's company. Well, maybe Taki. But they were already friends.
He sat down, hands in his lap. He felt a little more conscious about the dirt under his nails now, so he tried to adjust his hands to hide it.
