It took Chihaya a while to wake up. It usually did unless his alarm was blaring. But he didn't notice anything unusual, even though he had every reason to. It wasn't until he couldn't cuddle sleep any longer and had to open his eyes. He was suddenly filled with a terrible sadness. He was never going to wake up beside Kagetsuya again

Adachi had been told before that he could sometimes have an active imagination. His dreams, the things that he never shared with anyone, were especially imaginative. Ever since he'd been assigned to the boonies, dreaming of the town in crumbling ruins helped him to get to sleep. He fucking hated it. Occasionally, he'd dream about those brats getting themselves killed in their pathetic attempts to 'catch the culprit.'
He'd gotten this far, there was no way they'd trace it back to him.
"Paperwork, paperwork."
That was new. It didn't really sound like anything he'd normally have in a dream. He was sick of having to do paperwork every goddamn day.
"--may spend their shift with the children in the Courtyard or relaxing in the Sun Room."
Okay, yeah, that wasn't right. Adachi's eyes flew open, and he looked around. The room was way too...sterile for his liking

There had to be a mistake, then; he didn't belong here. So how'd he get from the hospital to here? The nurse looked down at her clipboard, and it was her turn to frown. "It says here that you were transferred in from another hospital." Well, that answered that question. Still didn't explain how he'd slept through it all.
Adachi rolled his eyes. This was getting boring. "Look, I don't have time for this," he said, his voice taking on a dangerous tone. "Can you at least let me make a phone call? Dojima-san's going to flay me alive if I don't

As the world closed in on him, the sudden but expected pain made Kaworu try to draw in one last breath, only to find that he couldn't. His lungs were crushed, his bones were snapping, and there was nowhere for the air to go anymore. His eyes never left the craggy metal monster in front of him, but at the same time he felt like he was watching himself die. Watching the pressure increase on his frame until he simply ceased to be. In reality it hadn't even taken a second for his life to be wiped away, but he still had enough time to feel every piece of his body break individually. It probably hurt a great deal more than the shock was letting him comprehend, but he was still glad when it ended

His eyes shot open and the first thing Rorschach realized was that he wasn’t dead. The second thing he noticed was everything else: The smell of the room on his bare nostrils, the sharp light of the lamp piercing his uncovered eyes, even the taste of the air on his moist, exposed lips. He felt naked, which was different from what he thought he’d be feeling, which was dead

When Rey woke up, he was vaguely aware that something was wrong. There was a feeling in the back of his still groggy mind, nagging at him. Needless to say, he didn't like it, so he opened his eyes. His surroundings were what first clued him in. It wasn't his and Shinn's room in the Minerva--it looked more like a hospital room. Cold and clean. Only Rey couldn't immediately figure out why he was in such a place. As far as he could tell, he wasn't injured whatsoever. The grogginess was a little worrying, as he was usually awake first thing in the morning, but not a huge concern
