Day 41: Lunch

May 19, 2009 05:31

Just as von Karma started to enter the doorway leading to the Courtyard to look around for anyone remotely resembling his daughter, that pretentious lunatic's voice rang out over the Intercom, heralding the approach of lunch time. Right away, the damned nurse practically dragged him back into the cafeteria and towards the serving tables, telling ( Read more... )

Like usual, Lockdown got to the refueling room nice and early. If he got here early, there was always a dozen empty tables, and therefor he wouldn't be forced to sit with others.

The bounty hunter grabbed himself some fried and what he assumed were the chicken strips. He also decided to get himself a couple of sides, settling on some sort of slop consisting of stringy vegetables and thin, white sauce, and a salad from the salad bar. He used a different dressing than the one he got last time, remembering the horrible taste of it.

Lockdown seated himself on a small table, closest to the wall, hoping that his client would be here soon enough, and started nibbling on a fry.

Lockdown's optics widened in surprise when the man who was previously sitting down at the table next to him abruptly snatched the paper out of his hand and proceeded to soak it.

The bounty hunter got to his feet quickly and snarled at him, "You stupid human, give that back!" He snapped his fist out to try and punch the man in the face, while his other hand shot out to reclaim the paper, not even noticing the other man who had joined them.

Train all you want at dodging and blocking, sometimes you're just going to want to take a punch to the face. In these situations, I recommend angling your head so that your opponent's fist connects with some part of your forehead. No matter how well trained you are, get hit in or around the temple and your jawbone can pinch some very important nerve clusters when it shifts. You'll be in severe pain, unconscious, or worse.Michael took Lockdown's punch and sprawled backwards, out of reach of the robot's other hand, peeling the note off the ground as he did. He hid his face behind it, with the words facing towards Lockdown ( ... )

"Hey!" Now that was just wrong! Chaz might've been an idiot, but hitting him?! Zelnick was over the table, quick as he could, and setting himself between the tattooed guy and Chaz, arms crossed and back straight. "Cool down, mister! He made a mistake, yeah, but you don't have to assault him for it!" he snapped, indignantly, eyes narrowed.

Lockdown took his paper back, looking it over and making sure the ink hadn't ran. He read it once more over, closed his optics and went over it in his head. Good, he'd memorized it, and it would still be in his processor until after the job was done, then he'd forget what the target looked like again, as usual. The bounty hunter tore the paper up and stuffed the pieces in his pockets, planning to dispose of them later.

He finally seemed to notice the other human who had accompanied the man with the strange accent. Rather short for a human, and his hair was that common brown color he'd seen on quite a few patients.

Lockdown looked past the brown-haired man to glare at the idiot on the floor, his voice dripping with menace, "Yeah, well, just don't touch my stuff next time, or else I'll do much worse than just punch you." He wished his had his chainsaw to demonstrate, but for now, he would just have to put all his threat into his voice.
