Forte didn't respond to that revelation as they moved on. On the one hand, he just wasn't sure what to say, but aside from that... it mean that "they" didn't need a functioning body (or maybe a body at all) to kidnap a robot.

Too many solar cycles in a Starhopper by himself had obviously taken their toll, if that silence was anything to go by. Social skills had never been his strong point anyway but anything would have been better than that silence, even with the glowing sweep of the flashlight attempting to dispel his suspicion. Cats were always lurking nearby in most corners of the hallways and this one was no different. It was, however, a little larger than even its own mutated kind, rotting ears flattened as it stalked down its prey. There were two, but it wasn't thinking in terms of how many it would have to battle against for its meal. It was only considering how much food it would be able to obtain during this counter.
Its claws were long, but eerily silent. It'd been planning to hide just a bit longer, wait for the optimal time to attack, but when the sweeping flashlight unexpectedly shined into the crook it was crouched against, the animal darted out, fast as lightning. It aimed for the nearest prey, the one that seemed to be holding something that the cat would've paid attention to had it cared. As it was, it only cared about trying to sink its claws into the fleshy part just above the ankle.

Another stretch of hallway. Edgeworth's footsteps echoed heavily as he moved down it.

And into the hallway again. A little thread of discontent shivered up his spine. "Shine the flashlight around, would ya?"
