[from here] This was boring. They needed to install like teleporters or warp points or something all sci-fi-like if they were going to be doing creepy experiments and shit. And then they'd make weird ass keys to make the transport things work and then they'd just have to hide them all over the fucking place because, clearly, the people running

The main hallway was mostly clear so far, meaning he had left early in comparison to the others. This might give him a slight advantage in the predetermined time period that was nighttime here. Itachi was not sure if it worked like that, but the time manipulation was strange enough that it could certainly be true.

On second thought, maybe it'd be a better idea to think about the folder when he was safely in Admiral Zex's room. With so few people out, Teisel stood out more and needed to pay attention.
...safely in Admiral Zex's room. Something about that didn't quite scan right.

First one, apparently. Eh, no matter--Okita he wasn't concerned about, but Kaito standing around by himself in the dark was an entirely different thing. Heiji leaned against the wall by the door to the stairwell, katana in hand (could never be too careful), and waited for the other two to show up.
...come to think of it, Heiji didn't quite get the instructions Homura had given them, now that he thought about it. Fuck, he hoped Okita knew what Homura was talking about. Trying the key on all the doors, maybe...?

Looks like he wasn't the first one to show up. Okita slowed his pace as he approached the main hall, knowing that he'd probably stick out a lot more here and on a night when patients were brainwashed, wearing his Shinsengumi outfit would make people wary of him. Waving to Heiji as he came closer, Okita smiled wide, the keys tucked securely into his waistband.
"Good evening, Heiji-kun!" he said in higher spirits than was probably necessary for the hour of the night. "Did you wait for very long?"

"Nah, not at all," Heiji assured him, giving a one-shouldered shrug. "I just got here--musta gotten a head start on everyone, 'cause it doesn' look like many people're out yet." Maybe he was just slow usually.
"I didn' see if Kuroba replied--does he know where t'meet us?" Heiji looked past Okita down the darkened hallway to see if he could spot him. "'M a little worried 'bout him wanderin' around by 'imself. 'Specially after th'annoucement t'night."

Harley was especially quiet as she sneaked around this corner. She always tended to run into monsters or people here. Literally, too. But everything seemed hunky dorey around here so far.
She kept close to the wall on her left until it opened up into the next hallway. So far so good.

It really was eerily quiet, Endrance thought. It's as if I'm walking the road to hell. He shook the thought away, sweeping the flashlight beam from side to side as he did. Nothing was here, and so the best thing to do would be just to move on ahead.
