Peter scrambled to put on a calm facade. He had his moments as an actor, but sadly, this wasn't one of them. "I'm fine. I just forgot something." Brainy was just trying to be nice, but there was no point in dumping his problems on him. He didn't want the other boy to think he was a burden (which he wasn't), and there was nothing to be done about

In one way he was glad that Peter hadn't insisted on staying, as he could do with obtaining some sleep before Clark arrived, but in another way he was a little... disheartened that the other boy was making to leave immediately. The question about the flashlight drew his attention away from his thoughts (and how his eyes were starting to close) however.
"It isn't there?" he asked in surprise. Admittedly he'd used it as a makeshift weapon the night before, but it hadn't been badly damaged, so unless Luxord or Grell had taken it, it should in theory be somewhere in the room.
"Maybe the drawers? If not, I have extras."

Clark was nearing the hall Brainy's room was. The last time he'd been here, he'd had the "fun" of getting hit in the face and temporarily blinded by Brainy with a flashlight, although he guessed he had a good reason for being nervous. And then he'd learned more about Krypton and its destruction, as well as the other civilizations out there, and he'd forgotten all about being annoyed at the Coluan. Clark didn't plan to spend the night pestering him for more information...but he was pretty sure that by comparison, Smallville in particular was going to seem pretty boring and well, small when you put it next to worlds out there with space travel and stuff.

So it had been him. Clark Kent, the little boy wonder that Brainiac thought would save him from all the horrors of the world. From behind, Grell could see why. He had that farmboy, working-class aesthetic - muscle, and lots of it. The death god paused as he watched, just to make sure that this guy was indeed going toward M71 and then he smirked.
Jackpot.
Checking to make sure Luxord was nearby so he wouldn't miss the show, Grell started forward again, calling out softly to the boy ahead of him. As he moved, he made sure his footsteps were more audible and then reached into his sleeve. "Excuse me? I was wondering if you might be able to help me? I seem to be a bit lost..."

Aaand here would be the problem. Harley couldn't quite remember if it had been M74 or M72. One of those. After moving down the hallway, she stood between both rooms, turning her head back and forth between them both.
Uh... Let's see. She held up a finger in consideration, pointing to each door in turn. Iney. Meeny. Miney... Moe.
She stepped up to M72 banged the door with the side of her fist twice. "Hey, Baldy! You in there?!"

"Journa-- Wha?" The fist with the flashlight went to her hip. "What're you talkin' about? Thought we were goin' outside." Maybe she should have figured there was going to be a change in plans somewhere along the way. Her attention went to the junk he was holding in his arms. "...What the heck's that stuff for?"
Yeah. Great idea there. Let's duct tape all the monsters to the walls. That'll work out real well. Never mind they'd both run out of tape pretty quick...

"We do not have access to the technology that makes this process simple, and so we must carry things." Using his teeth, Spider ripped off a piece of duct tape, then used it to tape his box cutter to his chest. "But we also need our hands. Or hand. DAMN YOU SHEENA. Here," he said, holding out the paint bucket and brush. "Find something to do with this. And this sword. AND DO NOT OCCUPY YOUR HANDS. I NEED YOUR HANDS."

He waited for dark to complete changing to save any further awkwardness with Badou, then he gathered everything he could think of and left. He put the bat in the pillowcase and threw it over his shoulder, holding it with the same hand he held the sword. He'd have to drop it to use the sword decently. He put the flashlight in the other hand and hoped none of the expected doors were locked along the way.

He headed out of M79, armed only with his flashlight, his map, and the pillowcase to hold contraband. "Don't do anything I wouldn't do," he tossed back over his shoulder with a grin only slightly forced, then headed off down the hall.
