[From
here]As she entered the hallway, Ophelia stopped for a moment to quickly fold up Kio's maps and stuff them into one of her pockets. She had been hoping to take a peek at them at various intervals during the night, but in this dim light, there was no chance of being able to see them. For now, she would have to travel by memory of where she had

The passage through these halls were tedious. The longer she'd here, the more she wishes she could just shunpou to the captain's room. She sighed; it'd be easier, quicker but so exhausting here.

By now, Ken felt the soft pangs of muscle fatigue from his left hand, obviously due to the items he was carrying. It was weird; usually, he had managed more weight during longer treks. He had not expected to become so tired so easily.
Gritting his teeth, the boy pressed forward. Stopping now would only worsen the load.

Finally, the open hallways. Now there were more people scattered around, if she looked far to her left. As usual, they tended to conglomerate around the doors to the Sun Room, waiting for each other and preparing to venture into the basement. One day, she thought, that would serve to destroy them all; something would lie in wait there and attack whoever came by, effectively rendering one important path of travel useless.
But it probably wouldn't be her, so she didn't particularly care.
With a smile starting to creep onto her face as the anticipation of finding cake began to build, GLaDOS made her way to the right, toward the nearby staircase. She paused at the edge of the steps and glanced around again, just in case something was lying in wait. Or at the top of the stairs. There was always that problem, of course. It would know her from the beam of light her flashlight gave off.
She turned it off. Just in case. Stairs were, while awkward, not difficult to climb.

No good, nothing yet.
The vampire rubbed fitfully at an area next to his injury, hardly recognizing the increase in pain. He had more tolerance than that, and it having been a constant distraction in the back of his mind all day had gotten him well-acquainted with it. What had him wary was the knowledge that one good blow to the chest would ruin what healing had already taken place.
He wasn’t losing blood anymore, and he wasn’t fighting for breath. But that girl had still twisted a sword around in his chest, tearing muscle and lung. At the rate his repressed healing worked, a day wasn’t near enough to take care of such wounds. That wasn’t even taking into account the amount of blood he’d lost ( ... )

Moving along the wall, hand shielding the beam of her flashlight, Beatrix continued on to the meeting point. She idly wondered how Ophelia was handling the night.
