Why, if he had a dollar for every time this place had made his head spin, he'd never need to worry about not making the rent! ... Eh, well, actually, he even doubted that.
The detective sighed, noting the absence of his roommate with a frown. Kinda felt like he'd been in the guy's way, but it was good to know he was still in one piece! After sitting in silence for who-knew-how-long, he finally headed for the door. If the prosecutor had wanted to meet him, he wouldn't have been this slow getting here.

After what seemed an eternity (but was actually only a few minutes), von Karma arrived back at his room. Thankfully, he had seen no other creatures around, living or dead, after leaving the patient block hallway. Though he now had several weapons at his disposal, his arms were still very strained from the earlier struggles against Edgeworth and Wright; he was unsure of how well he could defend himself at this point.
As he had done last night, he secured one of the chairs under the door handle to hinder any possible intruders. He removed his belongings from his coat's pockets, put them in their proper places, then hung the coat back up in the closet. He then lay upon his bed, holding the bat defensively in his hands in case of a break-in.

As the seemingly endless night continued, von Karma eventually started to feel inexplicably drowsy, as though the events of the past two days had finally taken their toll upon him. He still gripped the bat protectively, but his hypervigilant state of mind relaxed somewhat. He gazed at the barricaded door through half-closed eyes, more concerned now about how to handle matters over the next few days than about someone breaking in.
I refuse to let them win so readily again, he thought, his weary mind full of determination. I must prevail completely over them the next time I encounter them at night. Failure of any degree is unacceptable; only absolute victory is satisfactory. No matter how long it takes to design it, my next -- and final -- plan to get revenge on Edgeworth and Mr. Wright shall succeed in full ( ... )
