[Nightshift 35] M-A Block Hallway

He moved as quickly as his leg would allow him to, taking the pain for what it was and letting it flow through him and out of him. Qui-Gon knew how to get to the Main Hall from here and didn't anticipate any trouble.

Mello brought no pillowcase, assuming that a reconnaissance mission to the outdoors wouldn't yield anything worth compromising his dexterity. The pockets of his coat could hold small objects, and that should be enough. Maybe he'd make Near carry a bag. It wasn't like he was useful for much else.

He turned into the last hallway on the block.

Ballroom, ballroom...

... where was that, exactly? Thinking back, Goku had never actually been in either a ballroom or a room that he thought would look like one. He didn't know where to begin looking, so the first thing he had to do was... find Sanzo's smell. He guessed that he might be able to find Q.G.'s if necessary, but since he was more familiar with Sanzo's he decided to go with that.

Unsurprisingly, the trail wasn't hard to pick up and Goku was already sprinting through the hall.

Another empty hallway? Well, Sora wasn't about to complain, since this meant he would have less of a chance of getting distracted. He did have a habit of coming across people he knew in the hallways randomly, after all. That probably had to do with the fact that he had been in this place for a while and met a lot of people.

Everything was deathly quiet, and so he just kept a tight hold on his flashlight as he passed the bathroom and reached the door that would take him out of the patient block, stepping through.

So far, it appeared it was early enough in the night to where there weren't many patients wandering about. If he'd taken the time to meditate, no doubt it would have been more crowded, but it had sounded like Qui-Gon had wanted to utilize as much time as the night would allow for.

By now, he was well aware of the way he was supposed to go, even if the exact location of the basement's entrance was lost to him. It sounded like he was supposed to simply meet up with his former Master on the way there, which suited Obi-Wan just fine.

Careful not to make any unnecessary noise, the Jedi Knight made his way forward.

Empty hallway. There wasn't much to be done in terms of tracking, considering his sense of smell when it came to these demons was out of whack. Though if one happened to be injured, following the blood would do the job.

But Angel doubted he'd have to put in much effort. They seemed to spring out of the woodwork with very little work put in on his part. Both fortunate and...not so fortunate.

He kept walking through the hallway, moving slow and keeping a loose grip on his axe.

The hallway wasn't as empty as it first seemed. But then, nothing was ever as it seemed at Landel's Institute. During the day, the creature that now stalked Angel would have been a welcome sight, but now that it was the night, the feline had doubled in size and more than tripled in ferocity. Worse than its size, claws or agility, however, was its keen sense as a hunter. The cat knew what it was doing. It had hunted so many others before, escaping into the dark when the prey proved too hard or ripping out flesh whenever the little mice had been unfit for the task of defending themselves.

Tonight, as well, it had eaten a rat, but it was not enough. Crawling along the side of the hallway, the cat lay in wait for Angel to pass, keeping a keen eye on the axe.

Dampened abilities or not, his instincts were still sharp enough to tell when he was being watched. Just not quite from where.

Angel took another careful step forward. It was dark and he wondered again if it was all that smart to rely solely on his limited night vision every time, but he didn't like having his hands tied up with a flashlight.

He was almost by the bathroom now. Last time he'd gone in there, an overgrown kitten had dived at him.

Spike was not known for his tact and though at one time he had been one of the most feared vampires in his world, things had changed for him. He wasn't really a 'stalk them out' kind of guy and more often than not if he had instincts that told him to be quiet and alert, he ignored them.

He knew that Angel was close though, could smell the guy. If he sensed the cat lurking near by he didn't show even the slightest hint of it. He went to Angel with the thought of both irritating him and asking him for help (a weird combination but he could never just outright ask Angel for anything... Ever.)

"Evening Peaches," he said to Angel, with a cocky half-smile on his face.
