Dayshift 34: Men's Showers

Aug 09, 2008 17:04

Albel had wasted an entire night, but he couldn't quite figure out how he had actually wasted it. He had left his room early, didn't stand around doing nothing and no pathetic worm had dragged him down. Finding Fayt's room and smack the foolish maggot against the nearest wall shouldn't have taken a full night, but yet he found himself back in his ( Read more... )

Lunch had left Homura justifiably riled, and justifiably concerned. Really, what sort of things had his future self done? What kind of person had he become during that long time, year after year of fighting on battlefields in the name of Heaven? Kenren had said he'd rebelled, but even that thought seemed beyond possibility. Thinking he was a leader of men here was foreign enough, but that he had somehow led a force against HeavenEven though it made him smile, Homura still found it hard to think it possible of himself ( ... )

Finally. The nurses didn't really understand why he seemed so docile as they wheeled him into the showers, but this was the only shift he'd really been looking forward to all day. Water. Clean water and soap and a chance to get the filth off him. Certainly, he couldn't see it anymore, nor could he really smell it, and the nurses assured him that he seemed clean, but he could taste it and he could feel it and that was enough proof for him ( ... )

Homura was growing more used to the sense of awareness he possessed now; in many ways, it was nicer this way, not being surprised when he was joined. Especially since so many of the ones who did join him were people his former self had known; there was less to deal with without the additional shock of being approached ( ... )

Just as he thought. Homura had lost his memories and, if evidence on the board meant anything, he'd lost a great deal of them. He didn't recognize his own group anymore, let alone his goals and wha ( ... )

Ugh. If they thought Aidou would ever grow complacent with such unsightly practices, they were wrong.

Other people could grow to accept showering with others around in a half-assed bathing facility. He wouldn't. His skin was definitely going to crawl every time they allowed a shower in this place. But when the opportunity presented itself, Aidou couldn't very well refuse on principle. At the very least, he needed to clean the lingering smell of his own blood off of his body, and generally freshen up as much as he could when the soaps and shampoos were sub par.

He'd never smelled of his own sweat before, and he wasn't going to start.

With a towel wrapped around his waist, the vampire chose one of the back stalls and followed suit in ignoring everyone else around him. He didn't give free shows and he didn't want one.

Stylish and clean as always, the showers had the air of a high school locker room, only filled with adult men who really ought to be allowed to clean themselves in private. Still odd, Vlad thought, that they seemed to go days without showers and only then were herded in to wash, yet he hadn't noticed himself feeling particularly filthy and he was used to showering every night at home. Their captors probably washed them off when they cleaned and bandaged them at night, how considerate.

And Daniel said he was creepy. Well, there was no sense in playing shy when everyone else was in the same situation. At least he kept in shape and had nothing to be embarrassed about. He picked out a spot suitably apart from those already taken and started shampooing dutifully, while wondering what shampoo exactly this was, and if it would eventually start damaging his hair. The last hints of the injuries he'd gotten nights before twinged a little at the awkward movements, feeling no more painful than an old pulled muscle ( ... )

(I hope this is alright?)

Faust frowned down at his nurse, taking the cloth and sighing as he was directed into the showers. He didn't mind public bathing so much (he had spent a while in countries where it was the norm), but he didn't like how ... unsanitary this seemed. They were obviously clean when they woke up, so why this? Why only once every few days? Was this to help with the facade that this was an actual hospital?

Turning the knobs to a cool level, he ducked under the spray, his movements slow. His chest still hurt from the last detox and he didn't want to do anything to make it worse. He was so intent on his own actions, he didn't notice the man beside him right away.

(Welcome!)

Vlad was a bit surprised to have someone stand beside him as company, although the other man didn't speak at all. He didn't stare, being preoccupied with his own washing among other things, but he couldn't help noticing the rather distinct markings on the other man. Tattoos seemed to be a popular theme today, although this man was quite a bit older than the seeming girl Vlad had spent breakfast with. Still younger than Vlad, assuming looks could be relied upon.

After washing out his hair again, he did turn slightly to give a mild, "Hello." If the man were that easily disrupted by someone else speaking to him nude, he probably wouldn't have come up to Vlad, although in fairness he also hadn't initiated conversation.

Showertime, also known as the time when the men all pretended they hadn't come into existence naked and that there was something odd about it all. Granted, he wasn't used to the need for showers, but once trying them in the human form they were kind of pleasant. Washing was supposed to be therapeutic for humans, after all, right ( ... )

Lunch hadn't been too bad. Despite his initial concern, he had managed not to irritate his tablemate, so it could be worth the time to get to know him further. There were several people he needed to get to know further, really. That Harley woman from Gotham, that Uchiha man from the day before, and it might be a good idea to get to know his roommate. But that could wait until dinner.

Crane didn't really care much for the idea of communal showers. It wasn't exactly embarrassing in any way, since he firmly believed in brain over brawn, or whatever other physical comparisons other men liked to make when naked in the showers together. It was just a colossal waste of time to him, and he would rather make it go as quickly as possible.

He took little time stripping and going to the nearest shower, and quickly lathered up before turning the shower on to as hot as it would get as he began to rinse off. Well, at least the water was hot; one point in Landel's favor over Arkham. The water there would have been either lukewarm or cold, since ( ... )
