from here))On the one hand, the lack of people in the dark hallway almost allowed Omi to relax. This, he was used to, working alone or nearly so in the dark, avoiding notice. On the other, of course, there was the constant fear of the unknown that was inevitable in a place like Landel's. You could never plan or prepare enough for something you

Vlad was still moving a bit slowly, not taking the lead since Daniel was after all a faintly glowing target and Vlad was... not. It wasn't as heartless as it could have been; while Daniel was the most obvious target for a monster attack, it would also be easier to defend him from behind. Keeping each other alive wasn't exactly the highest of moral callings, nor their usual pattern, but thus far they weren't doing badly.
"If nothing as horrible as that waits up these stairs, then we'll have gotten past without my losing any blood at all. Isn't that nice?" Vlad had to point out.

Bitter? Probably, although that adjective suited Vlad better than it did him. Off the top of his head, Danny could probably list at least ten things wrong with the man and his ideas. Just because they were allies didn't mean he had to like the guy...it just meant he had to make sure Vlad wasn't beaten to a pulp again. Right?
He headed into the staircase, ascending to the second floor, still ahead of the creepy old fruit loop.

Badou didn't pause outside the door. He picked a direction and kept running until they reached the end of the hallway and pulled Alkaid just around the corner with him so her flashlight beam wouldn't be visible.

Tyki stepped back into the hallway. There wasn't anyone around besides them. Not even Redhead and his girlfriend, but hey were probably several hallways away already. The Noah couldn't be bothered with searching the entire building for them, though.
Besides, he still needed a light. Perhaps he could try his luck with another doctor's office? But then again, he hadn't exactly been the luckiest person tonight.

When they stepped out into the open hallway he looked nervously toward the end, where it curved into the main hall. Would Rinali and Rukia be there? Were they still waiting or had they already given up? He wasn't sure which one he ought to hope for.
"We... we got your cigarettes. I've played with Rhode so... so... can I go now?" he tried to sound humble, but it was hard to keep the annoyance from his voice.

Maybe not entirely as the Noah had wanted to go here in the first place, but that wasn't entirely the point.
