Night 20: Intercom, Midnight

Jan 02, 2007 00:57

The intercom crackled on, though this time, the cheesy Christmas music was notably absent. The head doctor instead was breathing hard, most likely in anger.

"Bastard pretends he's in. Pretends he's cool. I remember back in the days at school, back when he thought he was better than me. He never said it--of course not, you never say it--but I could see it in his eyes, his looks, his smirk! There was one thing I was better at him than, however--and that was taking things away. I took everything away, in the end, as you might hear in his cool tone, his facade of smug name-calling and dumb hints and quizzes. That man is a master of disguise, girls and boys---and I'm a master of the taking! I've taken some more children in tonight, in fact--Alexander Grey, Lynn Maxwell, Mark Bolan, Reineld Schreiber, and Ross Reynard. Hopefully, they'll be clever enough to see through the lies."

The rant was short and without pause, and it was with some strength that the intercom screeched and then sounded off again.
