Nightshift 33: M61 - M70 Hallway

Jul 09, 2008 06:31

The beginning of nightshift, mmm? What a strange and funny thing had happened. It wasn't like normal Landel's nights by any stroke of the imagination; indeed, the radios and the intercom were playing this time. How fancy! It was like three voices talking at once, once from the wall and twice from the two radios in Peony's and Siegfried's room ( Read more... )

Sanji counted the remaining cigarettes in his pack with a frown. He'd have to be careful with how he spaced them out. That didn't keep him from lighting one up the moment he left the room, however.

Nami hadn't given him or Chopper a place to meet up, but he assumed the rec field would be as good a place as any. If the little reindeer knew anything about the layout of the building he'd know to head that way as well. If not, there were doors to both halls from there and he could make his way to the other one in order to check for him.

Well, dinner had been interesting. Mori wasn't sure if Reid had really understood what was going on, but he didn't really mind if the misunderstanding remained. Reid had the air of the upper class about him, too, but Mori's family rarely dealt in business affairs. He was lucky in that respect, not having to bend backwards like the others did to keep the political and social machine oiled and smooth ( ... )

Citan was puzzled over the strange announcements. Not puzzled because he didn't understand them, but puzzled as to who, exactly, had made the broadcasts. This 'Jill' person certainly didn't seem capable of hacking into the Institute's system. And to have access to what sounded like records of the Institute's history....

Working quickly, he noted down what had been said. He'd puzzle over it tomorrow.

Now he had to meet the others, and hope they weren't delayed as they had been the night before.

This would be his second time wandering through the halls at night. Though he still wasn't sure what to expect, Bennet felt a bit more prepared this time around. He gathered and checked all the items he'd be bringing along, such as his maps, the flashlight, and radio before leaving the safety of his room.

There was no time to waste. He would be exploring the halls with Claire tonight, and he definitely didn't want to leave her alone for any longer than she needed to be.

Determined, he quickly walked down the hall.

After another "delightful" announcement by the Head Doctor, the doors unlocked themselves again. He sat alone in the room for a bit, trying to make out some kind of plan of what to do during the nightshift. Sure, he could try testing out his magic, but he wouldn't want to be left alone where monsters could swarm him. Exploration was an option, but once again, Zelos was told specifically not to go alone, and he wasn't about to take any chances.

So, now what? Well, in any case, he should probably get moving. Maybe he'd come up with something while walking through the halls...
