Day 33: Recreational Field (4th shift)

Jul 03, 2008 08:55

By the time fourth shift came, Renamon was mentally tired. Even though she was able to somewhat sort her thoughts last shift, since Kaneyoshi had never shown, she was still a more somber fox than she usually was. As much as she didn't want to believe it, she was starting to think that she was looking for connections where there weren't any ( Read more... )

[Freeeeee~]

Outside. Yuffie liked being outside.

The nurse accompanying her had patiently listened to her chattering all the way from the cafeteria. Not about anything important, of course. Inane stuff- the colour of the walls, the number of patients, and why couldn’t the uniform be green? Had patiently attempted to reign her in when the skip in her step got a little out of hand. Had just handed her a 'Frisbee' and told her to have fun, but to be on her best behaviour; no trouble, please!

Yuffie looked at the Frisbee, looked at the nurse, and grinned broadly. "No worries," she said with a salute, before she launched herself into an exuberant set of cartwheels.

Skidding to a halt once she was a good distance away, the young ninja bounced up and down a few times, taking stock of the area. It wasn't as big as she would've liked, and it was kind of plain; a flat area of grass with a couple of goal-posts at either end, and not much else (other than a few people, though it was still relatively empty).

Still, it was outside! Fresh air ( ... )

Yuffie watched carefully as the throw was made. Posture was good, and Kairi'd followed her instructions; it wasn't a bad throw at all, for a relative novice. The catch, though.

"Just a little too spinny," Yuffie laughed, wincing in sympathy. "Might wanna be careful with that; using a firmer grip when catching can help, but if you think the disc's spinning too fast, sometimes it helps not to catch it at all, 'til you know you can handle it."

She offered a pleased, if slightly lopsided grin, "Still, ya did pretty well there! You got it to come back, which is more than I can say for some beginners."

The young ninja remembered all too well her own lessons in throwing and catching objects, and she still had the calluses on her hands as mementos. Not that she minded. They were practical, and it made holding, throwing, and catching razor-sharp shuriken a lot less painful in the long run. Besides, lily-soft skin was way less interesting.
