Nightshift 32: Music Room

[From here]The gypsy tiptoed into the room as quietly as she could, eyes straining to see right in the darkness. Blue carpet, red chairs (ugly ones at that)... There was the shining of metal toward one of the walls, which she assumed to be some sort of cymbal, and decided that that area was the most likely candidate for where a tambourine was. As Scar followed Esmeralda into the Music room, he could barely hold himself from smirking victoriously. Convincing her to move along hadn't been too difficult, mainly because he had been right.

He glanced around the area for any possible threats in the darkness. His feline eyes were not able to catch any moving shadows in the area. After deeming the room as 'safe' he switched on his light stick, providing them with a little more light to search for...whatever they were searching for.

The King moved around the room himself, glancing at the various objects to see if something happened to be of use.

The sudden burst of light made Esmeralda jump, but the surprise didn't last as long as the curiosity. She turned to look at what Scar was holding and gave it an inquisitive smile.

"What is that?" She hadn't seen anything like that in all her wanderings.

"It is a light stick." Scar answered, still glancing at the various items. Though the feline had to admit; he was not quite certain that 'light stick' was the item's official name. Then again, the name he gave it suited its definition. What else could he possibly call it? 'Portable light' sounded too odd for his tastes.

"I am under the impression every patient has one." he continued. He would have wondered why Esmeralda hadn't taken her own with her if he hadn't ran into a certain individual who hadn't last night. Aside from that, it could be entirely possible that she simply didn't knew what it was for. Part of the reason Scar had known was simply because he had taken the time to thoroughly investigate every item in his room (not there was anything else one could do during dinner). Unfortunately, not everyone was gifted with intelligence.

Unlike Scar, Esmeralda had, oh, she didn't know... eaten during dinner to keep her energy up. She didn't even think to look under her pillow once the doors unlocked. She'd have to do that next time.

Still, she was a little impressed at the object. The closest she had dealt with were torches, and this was completely different. She eyed it a touch longer before turning back around and using the light Scar was shining to find what she wanted.
