The Colonel had always been infamous for his crude sense of humor. Even now, as he hurriedly prepared for the night, Jade found himself chuckling light-heartedly at the events he recently witnessed

It was taking less and less time to make it to the men's cells each night. Naomi was rather surprised to see L outside, waiting, as she passed her flashlight over the hallway. Well, he had said he had things he had to do tonight.
"Hi," she managed, the entire awkward dinner conversation coming back with a vengeance. She cleared her throat out of habit, and her eyes dropped. Just for a moment, but it was enough for her to realize what she'd just done, and she looked away immediately, wishing she'd learned how to control her facial expressions better. There were some things she didn't really want L to know. Such as why, exactly, she was blushing.
Besides that, it was extremely unprofessional to look, even discreetly, at your boss's...pants front.
"I, um, got here as quickly as I could." Another clearing of her throat. "Didn't run into any monsters."
Naomi's blush deepened and she turned her head sharply, gaping.
"I...No!" she exclaimed, quickly. "Oh god, no! I'm not!" She shook her head, embarrassed and miserable. She wasn't interested! She was just...morbidly curious! It was all Arlene's fault!
"I wasn't..." Wasn't what? She couldn't very well deny it. Not when he'd seen her. "Dinner," she managed, her face a mask of awkward discomfort. "Arlene. She brought up things - and admitted you asked her not to - and asked questions and it made me wonder.... I've just got a lot of things on my mind right now!"
A touch too defensive, maybe, but the last thing she wanted was L thinking she was attracted to him.
The stillness of the room was almost oppressive. Armand found himself dwelling on the ire in Dr. Landel's voice. The evil hatred reminded him far too much of Chauvelin. And hadn't Landel proven that he could kill with his own hands? He'd claimed it anyway. Armand shivered. Preparing himself to go out was a little awkward without a light, but the small room was familiar by now. He laid out the strange radio and his journal and a few pens on the desk where he could find them again

It was lucky that Armand's room was so closely placed to his own. Simply a hall over, it took him little time at all to make it there. And the small walk allowed him to think more on the doctor's announcements. The puzzle was a large one, and Citan was missing far too many importance pieces. But perhaps one more had been handed to him....
Armand's door was open. Still, there was no need to forgo pleasantries. "Armand?" he called, knocking lightly on the door frame.
Armand looked up eagerly. He could see the light in the hallway now, and hopped up to trot over to the doorway. "Dr. Uzuki! You made it very quickly. Come inside. I just realized it may not be that easy to find Morrison, but we can try."
He was ashamed to realize that. He should have left a note him on the board. He tried to remember if he'd ever heard the man's room number
Soubi was alone. In his room. He had no idea where his strange roommate was gone, but he didn't particularly care, beyond the fact that he didn't want himself or Ritsuka to disappear either. Perhaps it was just a room change. He ought to be thankful.
He hadn't seen much of Ritsuka today, but he bit back any worries that the boy had already vanished like his roommate. He'd know. He was sure of it. So, tonight, he was going to wait for Ritsuka by the door. If the boy took too long to come to him, he'd seek him out once more. But first he had to give the boy a chance.
Satisfied that it would hold properly, Zoro tugged one last time at his bandanna before scooping up his flashlight and stepping out of the room. He was wearing his earrings this time and, together with his haramaki and boots, that was clearly as prepared as he was going to get.
Though neither of the people he'd identified as roommates showed up more than once Zoro couldn't find it in himself to worry about them. The idea of people disappearing certainly wasn't new and considering it had supposedly happened to both him and the cook...
Eh. Where was he headed again? The basement most probably, considering no one had mentioned otherwise.
Sanosuke was still trying to figure out what the fuck had happened, what the fuck was inside of him making the world spin when the lights went out, and the voice started screaming. Sano could understand that, felt a bit like that too. Problem was that the feeling kept coming and going, lingering on the edges of his thoughts just far enough where he couldn't grab onto it. Might have been nice, considering how his head was in such a damn daze otherwise

Ah, not being able to find their third member was going to prove a bit difficult. "Shall I see to your hands while we're here?"
