Nightshift 30: Janitor's Closet

[From here.]

It was often said that one’s means of transport was a jovial experience all on its own, though Jade begged to differ with more tedious trials such as this. With objectives forgoing all complexity, the lack of conflict between his goals was almost as frustrating as if it were the exact opposite in company. He remained optimistic with the possibility that something would see fit to intervene his progress once he stepped foot inside the room, though was unfortunately met with nothing more than the supplies he yearned for.

Oh well. Jade couldn’t allow himself the luxury of some evening entertainment, so he went along with the task of gathering the necessities. No thought was needed to sift through the various supplies. As with his first night, he thought it wise to pick up another pipe since there was no question about its durability. It proved to be a better weapon in that it’s specialty was to be blunt, and Jade always enjoyed getting straight to the point.

However, he didn’t stop there. No, considering the distance between the patient blocks and this section of the building in particular, it would’ve been idiotic not to snatch the opportunity to gather more ‘stuff’. Without delay he rummaged around for a bag, placing another one inside for some needed insurance before gathering several more pipes.

After collecting half a dozen in various sizes, Jade tossed in a roll of duct tape and a few batteries before hoisting the bag over his shoulder. It was almost disappointing to leave the toolbox behind, though the colonel knew not to bog himself down. Red eyes gave one final glance around the cramped room before he stepped back out.

albel, jade
