The shower shift had been a bit brief for Claude's liking, though he figured it had more to do with the fact they didn't get to bathe very often, and less to do with finding the shower rooms enjoyable. Then again, did anyone really enjoy communal showers

The room was still fairly empty when he arrived, which meant it would be difficult to avoid one of the faces he recognized. He planned to steer clear of the shinigami of course; this morning had just been a fluke, but Kurogane was another matter altogether. If he was going to avoid awkward conversation though, he would have to keep things light, not give any time for it to take a serious turn. Business as usual.
With a sly grin, he crept quietly behind the couch(though surely the ninja had an inkling he was there), then reached out to cover Kurogane's eyes with his fingers, "Guess who

"Come ou-" he started, but stopped the instant he felt the fingers wrapping around his half closed eyes. His words trailed off into a low growl when he heard that annoying voice accompanying the hands. "Get off," he then ordered, "or lose your fingers." He couldn't help his annoyance at the man's childish actions. The day had not been kind to him so far, and the last thing he needed was to have to deal with his companion.
He needed to though and on a much more serious level than Fai would probably like. So, to make sure Fai didn't attempt to run away, he reached up and took a hold of one of the other's wrists, holding tightly.

"Come on, guess!" Part of him just enjoyed playing around and teasing Kurogane, but part of him really, just... wanted to hear him say it.

Though clean and dressed again, his face was still warm with embarrassment when he settled on a couch in the sun room. He was hardly in a mood to deal with Admiral ZEX, if Admiral ZEX it was, but Zelnick had named the time and place; it would be... really rude to not be there.
So he sat on the couch, leaned back to make himself comfortable, and--
Oh.
The soft, glowing light was... natural light, the sun filtered through a blue atmosphere. It was the sky, EARTH'S sky, bluer than he had ever thought possible, with clean white clouds scuttling across it...
Zelnick was entranced, the sight of something he'd worked towards with a thousand days of staring at starscapes, right there above him, pinning him in place. Blue sky...

ZEx was well caught up in fantasies of how wonderful their reunion would be when he finally caught sight of the human. Staring up at the sky (which was blue, ZEX noted... perhaps this was not Earth?) with that flexible neck of theirs, and at the sight of him ZEX could have fallen in love ten times over again.
"Oh Captain! You really are here!" ZEX was delighted and it showed, even though he was clumsier than ever. He kept his one hand over his eye as he gestured vaguely with one arm in an attempt at a VUX ( ... )

Staring at the man, Zelnick waved a hand in greeting and managed a slightly strained, "Hi to you to, uh, Admiral."

When the riot had started, and he'd realized River was in the middle of it, the possibility of his not participating had flown out of the window. He'd launched himself at the first orderly standing between himself and his surrogate sister, with every intention of fighting his way to her side...an attempt that had failed spectacularly, as apparently the staff had learned to keep a close eye on him for signs of violence. He'd been swarmed within moments, and felt that prick in his neck that signaled the heavy drowsiness of his being drugged...the effects were only now starting to wear off, and his accompanying orderly was still hanging around almost too close for comfort ( ... )

The question apparently caught Claude off guard, and he subconsciously moved to shove hands into pockets that he belatedly realized weren't there. "I-I should be asking you that, shouldn't I?" The Earthling let his hands fall awkwardly to his sides. "But, yes, I'm, uh, fine." He managed a faint smile. "Thank you."
He eyed the swordsman for a moment, trying to find any signs of injury or illness. Dias seemed to be carrying himself well enough, though he looked like he'd seen better days. "When that riot happened today, I was wondering if you'd managed to stay clear of it or not. It was pretty chaotic, so I had no way of seeing you for myself." He frowned a little. "You're okay, though, right?"

At Claude's inquiry as to his health, he shrugged slightly. "The sedatives are wearing off" was his noncommittal reply. "With how tired you looked just now, I thought maybe they'd gotten you with some, too." Apparently, he'd been wrong; Claude had looked tired when Dias had first addressed him, but he seemed entirely alert now.

Both to speed his familiarisation with westerner etiquette and to possibly help out a new patient, Subaru approached the man tentatively. "Pardon me, would you mind if I joined you?"

"I would not mind," he said after a moment when it became evident to him that this other man wasn't about to leave him be until he received an answer. He finally turned his head to look at the man before him, where it would become evident to the stranger that Nakago, at least, wasn't truly the westerner he believed him to be. There was a slight upturn to his eyes that would indicate some Asian heritage, but it was all but it was all but invisible to most unless they were specifically looking for it. "Do as you like; it matters little to me."

[feel free to bother; he'll be running to grab Rukia once she appears, but since she's backthreading, that won't be for a while.]

Despite the hassle of not being able to walk properly, that had probably been the fastest Rukia had washed herself since she'd been adopted into the Kuchiki Family. She loved bathing, and took her time whenever she could, but she hadn't had a chance to see Renji yet that day. It was getting late already, and she just needed... him.
A different nurse from her usual wheeled her into the sun room. Rukia spotted Renji right away and told the woman that she was fine and could manage by herself. Steering the wheelchair was a little odd, but she made her way around the few obstacles without any collisions.
