Nightshift 29: Decontamination Room

The good news was, they'd broken through the door.  The bad news, it'd made quite a bit of noise.  He sighed and let his flashlight lead the way before he pulled Rinali into the room with him.  To his surprised, the room was fairly simple.  White walls, white tiles, and just an ordinary table in the center, covered by a blue tarp.

Rinali scanned the room with her flashlight quickly, expecting something to have been drawn to the noise. Fortunately nothing was here. Either they were lucky and no one heard, or the beast which had heard wasn't here yet. She shook her head. "Nothing," Rinali replied. "It looks clear to me."

Everything here seemed so much cleaner than the rest of the institute, which appeared to be decaying from within once night began. In some strange sense, it actually made the room a little more disturbing than the others. She glanced at the table with the blue tarp in the middle. "I wonder what they use this room for," she mused quietly, s

There was a soft, almost imperceptible sound that echoed in the room, like a sigh, or a quiet breath.

Nothing moved.

Luckily, it seemed as though the room was empty of any nasty creatures and that was good enough for him. Since there wasn't anything of value and he didn't want to waste time, he continued onward, toward the second door, Rinali in tow.

"Let's keep going then."

This door, Allen noticed with some relief, opened easy when he turned the handle and revealed another bare room. This one looked more like the showers they'd used during that horribly embarrassing shift a couple days past. Only... the shower heads were much higher, up on the ceiling for some reason. How strange!

Rinali followed, then paused halfway through the room and towards the second door, shining her light around again in all directions, including the ceiling. Did she just hear that, or was that just Allen? She shrugged off the feeling for the moment, assuming it was just the paranoia that came with being as confused about what was real as she was, and caught up with Allen again. She shined her light into the room and looked curiously at the shower heads. How...bizzare.

"Everything here is so...clean," she commented.

Zenick nodded and followed Yuber into the next room, tightening his grip on the flashlight. It wasn't an optimal weapon, but it was heavy and blunt, and hopefully he would be able to find something better soon.

Glancing down at the human beside him, he huffed softly in amusement before disappearing through the next door.

[ From the Experimental Treatments Laboratory]

Yuber’s retreat didn’t falter in the slightest as the knight slipped through the decontamination room and back to the hallway.

The plate outside the door was labelled ‘Decontamination Room’, which gave Aidou a clear indication of what the room would normally be used for. What the purpose it served for the nighttime horrors remained to be seen. Things became a little more clear when he silently ghosted inside, Kyon behind him. His ill-matched companion was certainly more graceless, attracting that much more attention with the sound of his footfalls, but that wasn’t going to be a problem here.

Allen Walker, he recognized. The girl, he didn’t. However, he recognized the monstrous creature they were dealing with for what it was, and that was what was important.

Wordlessly, he flicked his gaze at Kyon, noting his reactions carefully. He gave one firm shake of his head--a clear indication that this did not change their objective.

As they came in to the contamination hall, Kyon's eyes immediately shot to the commotion between Allen, Rinali, and 'Komui'. He felt like stopping, not just out of pure horror and the smell, but because this monster seemed like it used to be someone, and someone they new.

Was that a similar fate for him? Was he going to lose his mind and be carted off to this place? He'd already come close just the other night.

Even worse than that ...was this what happened to Haruhi? She'd not checked in in several days ..what if.

It was Aidou's movements that brought him back. He nodded back, he wanted the hell out of that room. He wanted it now.

In the midst of turning away again, Aidou's gaze shifted just over Kyon's shoulder. Another two men, one he definitely recognized.

Just great, more potential screw-ups. At least they made acceptable monster bait.

The little ex-human was obviously shaking in his shoes at the sight, inner thoughts reflected in the cast of his face. Aidou looked back ahead, and just kept going, leading the way through the opposite doorway. There was nothing useful here.

But even before he made it to the door, he paused, wrinkled his nose, and said under his breath: "Cat."

Unfortunately, it seemed that they were not the only people interested in heading towards the lab.

Hopefully they would be able to work without being disturbed, and could explain away what they were doing as something less sinister than their actual purpose tonight.

Either way, it did not matter much, and Wesker gave no attention to the people already in the room. "Lets just keep going, Birkin."

William had noticed this as well, much to his annoyance. Yet there wasn't much he could do without drawing attention to what he wanted to do (which would get Wesker mad and then William would never hear the end of it). So, instead, the doctor only nodded as they continued to move.

"Lead the way, Wesker."
