hereJack swung the doors open and wandered onto the rec field. The Fable, however, had no plans to stick around. His first nightshift he had come here and discovered a rather unfriendly monster and he had no intention of repeating that encounter. Pressing his back against the wall, he moved as quickly as he could to the other pair of doors

While Naoya didn't receive any signs, the young man ultimately decided to take the route he had taken when he had first managed to explore. If he was lucky, there would be no one fighting outside, so he would be able to get some fresh air and find his bearings in the mean time. If he was even luckier, along the way he'd find his brother wandering or something similar.
He could only hope.

Naoto pushed the door to the recreational field open and stepped outside into the chill night air, almost instantly spotting Naoya in the darkness. He instantly relaxed, immensely relieved that his brother was safe, and approached him. "Naoya."

"Niisan!" Naoya called back. "You're okay!"

"Where now?" Kaito asked in a low voice, glancing around. It was harder to be certain in the dark, but it looked like this was the field where he'd met Hattori earlier.

Heiji moved at a quick clip to the other door.

Mozenrath paused as his feet crossed from floor to grass. Huh. It appeared as though they had found their way outside. For such an obvious exit, it didn't seem as if it had been well guarded. Either the captor wasn't the brightest star in the sky or this course of action had been intended. But really, who allowed their prisons to leave?
He noticed the stone walls and the strange structures in the field, but paid little mind to them. So, he knew where the exit was for when he found his gauntlet. There was no way he in all of existence that he would dare leave without it, no matter what the circumstances. Glancing over his shoulder at Nakago, the sorcerer said, "We appear to be outside."

Was he still there?
"Obviously," Nakago replied after a moment, scanning the field for a moment.

Mozenrath put his hands on his hips and took in the sight a bit longer. Yes, this was definately the way to leave when he finally did. Enough of that. Turning around, he walked by Nakago and pushed the flashlight (and the hand that held it) back towards the door they had just exited through.
"And now," He said as if it was the most obvious answer, "We go retrieve my gauntlet."
It certainly wasn't out here in the field. Probably in some nook or cranny in an out of the way room...

"As you wish, Your Majesty."
The words left a bitter taste in his mouth, though Nakago was surprisingly successful at keeping the disgust off his face. Had he not sworn he would never be subservient to anyone ever again? But, then again, he wasn't truly serving this man who claimed to lord over some non-existant area. This was only temporary.
All of this was only temporary. Soon, it wouldn't matter at all.

...And bingo. Outside it was. Then where had they...? There had been another door at some point. It lead into the cafeteria. But this was the rec field, and those two areas didn't connect. The courtyard was in-between, but there must be something he wasn't thinking of when it came to how to get there. Here there was nothing but walls...
Ah.
"That way," he pointed to the right, "and over the wall. You remember, don't you?" Sanji had to glance back, making sure Zoro was even following him still.

The offer was said casually and Zoro ran a hand through his hair as if trying to write off any answers he was about to give from that point on. Having mentioned the visit, even in passing, seemed stupid now. Kuina belonged only with his dreams- not unimportant, but she was just something too difficult to explain- and having to dredge up her memory just because some stupid copy-cat had come claiming to be her was annoying.
No, that was wrong. She hadn't said she was her. The girl had called herself Karen.
"Just someone claiming to be an old friend." Zoro replied, honestly enough. "And yeah, she was calling herself some weird name. Load of bull." If Sanji hadn't been nakama, Zoro wouldn't have even bothered answering.
At the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of two patients (fighting?) struggling against something but it really wasn't their concern and as long as the things weren't attacking them, it would probably be best if it stayed ( ... )

He blinked at Zoro's offer of his shoes. Part of him wanted to hold out a hand and demand them right then and there, but the other part of him was a bit too proud to just outright accept the offer. He took a long drag from his cigarette in thought. "You hold onto 'em a bit more. I'll give a shout if I think I do." It would be easier to ask for them when he had an immediate need for them.
"And no. I don't need a boost. You first, lettuce-top." That said, he adopted the same position he had the previous night, hands cupped in front of him and ready to boost Zoro upwards. "If you sit on the edge up there you can give me a hand next."

The wall wasn't as difficult to climb with the extra help and Zoro wasted no time pulling himself up.

The door opened to reveal what looked like a recreational field, expansive and, very clearly, outdoors. Nathan almost grinned at his luck, even as something in the back of his mind nagged him that it couldn't possibly be this easy. However, before he could actually brace himself to shoot up into the sky, something in further in the middle of the field caught his eye.
Two men were doing battle with what looked to be guard dogs at first glance, but a second look revealed something much more monstrous. Open wounds covered the creatures' bodies and chunks of flesh were missing to reveal the muscles and bone beneath. Nathan stood, frozen for a second as everything Sanji had told him fell into place. He hadn't been kidding.
That, or Nathan Petrelli was just as crazy as every, other lunatic in Landels.

With so much fresh meat wandering about this night, a set of gnomes couldn't stop themselves from partaking. There were only three of them, but they knew how to close in on someone, especially someone that was alone. This was why wandering at night without at least one other person wasn't advised.
They didn't make any attempts to hide themselves as they burrowed just barely below the ground's surface. Their bodies weren't directly visible, but the way they were pushing the grass and dirt up and out to make way for their digging would be hard to miss -- three tracks were being rended through the earth, and each one was headed for the one patient from differing directions. They were surrounding him.

As they closed in, the leader of the trio took the initiative. Using its stubby legs to push off, it leaped out of the ground, showering dirt all around it, and slashed with its claws at the human's ankle before diving back beneath the surface.
The two other trails of displaced dirt were coming closer, obviously with the intent of repeating what the first hand done.
