Night 29: F1-F10 Hall

[F2]She was in the midst of shoving pens into her coat when the intercom had announced the coming night. To her surprise, the voice in both sessions was not the maniacal doctor of previous nights; instead, it was a woman. Lydia the head nurse, specifically ( Read more... )

The lack of Elphaba was a little disturbing to say that least in Rangiku's mind. The other woman hadn't turned up all dinner time and her bed looked to be untouched. There was only one tray of food as well. There was no other conclusion, she'd gone.

Rangiku ate quickly and had hen managed to catch a short nap before the intercom sounded and the doors open. She paused in the middle of pulled her sword out from beneath the mattress. That voice... it sent chills down her spine. What had happened to the doctor? Or... if he'd gone walking, would he show up tonight?

Anyway, she had work to do.

Once the doors clicked open and the creepy voice filled the room, Kairi was standing. Unknown to her, her original clothes were hidden within her closet. Though, perhaps it would have been better to keep them in place anyway.

Turning towards Rukia for a moment, Kairi reached into her desk and pulled out the flashlight she had hidden away before once again turning towards her roommate. “Okay, I’m all set.”

She was excited to see Sora - it had been ages since she had been able to see her old friend.

Rukia snorted. "Thanks, but no face tattooes for me!"

Rukia had just finished eating when the radios turned on. She was a little surprised when Landel himself didn't come on, and wondered where in the Institute he might be... "Creepy," she muttered, only too happy when the radio went silent again.

After that it was like an old routine: a simple belt made out of a sheet, katana in place, a few pens in her pocket, notebook tucked against her back, a flashlight in hand, and she was ready to go. Rukia followed Kairi out into the hallway, giving the radio in their room a dirty look all the while.

Flicking on the flashlight, she pointed the beam down the hallway. "We just have to get directions from one of the other shinigami. She said she'll meet us by the entrance to this block. Then we can go meet Sora, okay?"

Kairi couldn’t help but laugh at Rukia’s distaste towards the whole facial tattoo idea as they slipped out of the room together, her eyes closing for a moment as she tried to get used to the dark. “Okay. Let’s -“

Just then, she remembered. Naminé’s maps! “Oh! I forgot something inside! You can go ahead of me and I’ll catch up to you later so I don’t slow you down. I know someone’s waiting for you, so I wouldn’t want you to be late or anything …” where had she even put those maps? They would come in handy, that’s for sure.

“Don’t worry about me, okay? I’ll be fine. Tell Sora I’ll be there as soon as I can.” A soft smile crossed her lips then, and Kairi nodded her head.

Rukia paused, giving Kairi a critical look. She didn't like the idea of the girl wandering around alone, but it wasn't far to the sun room. Besides, it was early in the night, and monsters didn't usually prowl near the patient blocks. She would be okay.

"...Okay," she said after a moment. "Be careful. See you soon."

With that she turned and jogged down the hallway, on the look our for Vice Captain Hinamori.

Hanyuu was still apprehensive about venturing out at night. Despite Arlene saying they were going to be in her room, and despite having heard that the rooms were about the only safe place at night, she still had to make it to Arlene's room without running into anything dangerous.

That sounded somewhat easy but, as she stepped into the hall with her flashlight in hand, Hanyuu realized there was one small problem. That being: she had no idea where F33 was. Well, she was in F6, so F33 couldn't be that far, right?

"Auauu," she murmured, before turning and heading down the hall. Hopefully she wouldn't get lost.

Rena thought she spotted someone familiar about two doors down, but she couldn't be certain. Shadows and outlines often played cruel tricks on the eyes, after all.

When she heard a soft "Auauu," however, she immediately brightened. There couldn't be any mistaking that voice!

"Hanyuu-chan?" the girl called out, careful to keep her voice soft enough for the other girl to not be startled.

Hanyuu hadn't gone very far when someone called out to her. That would have normally caused her to jump and consider retreating back to her room as quickly as possible. But the softness and familiarity of the voice quickly calmed the initial fear that came with the surprise.

"Rena?" Thank goodness it was someone she knew! Hanyuu hadn't thought her room would be so close to one of the others-- at least, she assumed Rena's room was in the same hall. Nightshift had only just begun, after all.

Clutching her flashlight to her chest, she scurried back to the other girls side, comforted by the fact that she hadn't needed to be alone very long. "Is your room in this hall, too?"

"Yes, it is. I didn't know you were so close," replied Rena, glad to have Hanyuu in the vicinity. After knowing what had occurred the night before, she felt rather guilty having been so irresponsible. Now, though, she could keep a better eye on the younger girl.

Oh, right. They were supposed to get going to Arlene's room. "Are you ready to go?" Rena asked, tugging at the end of her coat sleeves. "F33 shouldn't be too far, right?"

It seemed that more people were disappearing than Naminé had thought. Raven wasn't in her room again, and she hadn't seen the dark haired girl for quite some time. Since she wasn't in the room... a quick search of other girl's bed and closet showed that it had been cleaned out, and the drawer restocked with new materials. It was a clear sign: Raven was no longer in this room, at the very least.

She was starting to feel lonely again.

Naminé decided to go and see if Soma was around. Perhaps he was just busy; sometimes she would go for a few days without seeing people, so just because she didn't see him didn't mean he wasn't around. She would have to go to his room and make sure he was gone before she assumed it.

Of course, the girl was in denial, but she wouldn't admit that. On the bright side, the batteries in Raven's flashlight still worked, and Naminé finally had light. With that, she made her way through the halls and to Soma's room.

Lust slipped out into the hallway as soon as the doors unlocked. Armed as usual with her clawed knuckles and a pillow case to store whatever items she came across.

She wondered where Gluttony had gotten himself off to. As long as he was keeping himself out of trouble, he'd be perfectly fine.

Now to decide where to go.
