Night 18: M40 Hallway

Oct 08, 2006 14:59

Haru woke slowly, feeling disoriented and very thirsty. The past day or two had passed in feverish dreams and vague snatches of memories. He'd been aware of a nurse in the room once or twice, but other than that, he had no real recollection of what had gone on or how much time had passed. The dark room, however, left little question about what time ( Read more... )

Roxas opened his mouth, about to reply to Sora, but before any words could escape his lips, he heard his name being called from somewhere close-by. He automatically turned to face the new speaker, only to catch sight of Axel's grin just as it fell into something less than pleasant. And it wasn't exactly all that reassuring considering the conversation they'd had the day before ( ... )

Sora had no idea of Axel's heroic act. The pressure that continued to close in on him was clouding his vision and he was finding it harder and harder to take a proper breath when everything was so constricted.

Considering they were up against a scorpion, this wasn't the way he would have expected to be attacked. Getting stung over and over again until he died would have made sense, but he had not been prepared for the pincer...

His Keyblade had done next to nothing and he soon lost the circulation to even hold the thing, it falling out of his grasp and then dissipating once it hit the floor. He placed his hands on the over-sized pincer with the false hope that he could pry it open and get away.

Before he had much time to even try, however, he was dropped. He wasn't able to break his fall this time, landing so hard on his back that the wind was knocked out of him. He gasped for breath, but he was already passing out...

Axel really had no idea for his motive behind this, but it wasn't like he could change his mind. So he kept his grip as tight as he could, even going so far as wrapping his legs around the tail to act as insurance from keeping him off. But 'as tight as he possibly could' wasn't what he was really inclined to in his position; even now his body was weak from starvation and he knew he couldn't hold on much longer.

So when the scorpion finally gave it's all, the redhead practically slid from the appendage like it was slick with grease, landing a few feet away from the unconscious brunet. His head hit the floor with a crack, and his vision immediately became disoriented from the blow. And as much as Axel tried to get up, focus his eyes, do anything his body just wouldn't comply.

Finally, the darkness settled in and his eyes rolled behind his head before the Nobody passed out completely.
