(It was well into the night when the radios of the institute clicked on, spilling static from their speakers and the tortured whine of what sounded like a warped record. It stopped abruptly.
Apologies for the poor sound, my friends. We seem to be experiencing some technical difficulties. But that won't stop me. The night is still young, there is fun to be had. If you stay out of the hot spots, that is.
There's a bad moon on the rise, cats and kitties, a sanguine moon that holds no delight for creatures of the light. When the moon is high.... well, let's just say you're better off indoors. There's no telling what's in store when the stars go out.
But you'll do what you want, won't you?
There are no gifts for you tonight. But sit tight - there's bigger toy boxes out there. If you dare to open them.
And remember, old friends and new friends alike, good things come to those who wait.
Jack out.
(And then there was a click, and the static and voice were both gone.
