Nightshift 27: Waiting Room/Lobby 2

[From here.]Darkness once again met Rena as she crossed the threshold into the room. The interior contained vague outlines of chairs and occasional tables as well as a couple of items the girl couldn't quite place. It also seemed to be devoid of any living entities ( Read more... )

Mion scanned the room. Chairs tables, and some other things... And they were all alone, to boot. Despite the fact that this had become a club activity of sorts, the utter... quiet of the room brought Mion a little back to the reality of their situation. Mion nodded at Rena and began walking inside.

"It's pretty deserted, huh...?" Mion mumbled, mostly to herself. She walked towards a wall. "Hmmm... It'd probably be connected to something, so maybe we should look for some plugs or something?"

Rena, too, was affected by the stillness. In hindsight, perhaps the two should have been somber in their preparations. "Okay," the girl replied quietly as she neared a wall on the opposite end of the room. Finding a telephone cord or outlet shouldn't be too difficult.

"Let's see. A plug..." Crouching down by a stand-alone table, Rena began to finger along the wall for any plastics. So far, no luck. "Anything on your end, Mi-chan?"

"No, nothing!" Mion called back. She turned in Rena's general direction, or at least what Mion figured that was from her voice, and tried to make out where exactly Rena was. Unfortunately, a small table was in her way. The contents of her pockets, namely the pencils and her flashlight, flew out. "Ow ow..."

Mion blinked and trying furiously to focus her eyes. You've got to be kidding me! Mion began crawling around on the floor searching for her tools. "Where did you go...?"

At the noise, Rena popped up her head in alarm. "A-Are you all right, Mi-chan?" Although she generally had fair night vision, an enclosed room was not an ideal place to effectively utilize this facet. All the girl could catch was movement.

Rena rose to her feet. "I'm right by the--" Table? There were several tables. "Um, I'm right here." I think.

The chef did a quick check around the room after he ran in. It seemed spacious enough to offer them adequate fighting room. Best if all, it was currently unoccupied. That was the most important thing.

As keeping his eyes off his opponent for any length of time wouldn't be a good thing, Sanji had quickly returned them to the other man. He waited once again for him to take the initiative.

If this worm wanted to move so badly, Albel wasn't going to mind. At least none of that scum would get in the way of their little fight. He entered after his opponent, while still keeping his eyes on the blond fool.

"For a worm who accuses me of un-creativity, you're not very creative yourself." he scoffed. It wasn't the first time someone commented on his supposed 'girly' looks. Since when did such trivial things matter, anyway?

He noticed his opponent was waiting for the initiative, but the Elicoorian was more curious to see what the stupid blond would do.

"I could pick something nastier, if you wanted. I figured that was a tamer insult." Sanji tilted his head slightly upwards in standoffish fashion. If he still had his cigarettes, this would be the point where he'd give one a dramatic puff. Unfortunately, this wasn't an option right now. So he settled for the next best thing. He didn't believe the effect was nearly as cool looking, of course.

First things first - this room had to be cleared out a bit. There were a couple tables that might get in the way of their fight. He meant to be fancy about it, flipping a table with one foot and launching it in the direction of his opponent, but after the flipping proved more difficult than he was used to (what was it with this place, anyway?) he settled for simply shoving it closer to the wall.

From the shadows someone watched the two patients as they entered and prepared the room for their fight. Fighting was not allowed within the institute! They would have to be punished for their violation...

The walls echoed the scraping of metal as the nurse slowly approached them, running several pairs of scissors which had replaced the fingers to her right hand along the wall as she did so. Though still partly concealed by the shadows, her nurse's uniform could still be seen, but now covered in blood. From her back protruded numerous pens and pencils like spines, and the tips of her fingers on her other hand had been replaced with staple removers which clicked menacingly.

She would help them by punishing them. They needed the darkness, and she would grant it to them like an angel of mercy. It was only what any good nurse should do for the poor souls, wasn't it?
